For a guy with an ankle sprain, he had a pretty damn good series. It's on KA and our guards for not getting him the ball more

I don't know how you do it but he needs to be playing the 5 and needs to be treated like our best player. If that means moving Allen, if it means moving Mitchell (who let's face it, he can say it all he wants but he is never going to treat Mobley like our 1 option), you have to do it

Mobley posted 18 PTS, 10 REB, 2 AST, 3 STOCKS on 58% from the floor, 42% from 3 and 80+% from the line.

Said player got 11 shots per game in this series. A complete and objective coaching failure.

Every move from this minute forward should be to maximize his development. If that means starting over, so be it.

At the end of the day, if this dude gets tired of Cleveland, we are screwed. He's the bright light and it's really a shame we never got him to where he was promised to be. Insane he didn't average me like 20 shots a game. Damn shame.

He will never get 20 shots a game with Mitchell on the team. Mitchell says he wants Mobley to take that next step. Today after the first quarter Mobley had I think 12 or 14 points. And he finished the game with 24 on 8 of 12 shooting. What would have happened if they continued with the game plan that got them a 19 point lead instead of Mitchell and Garland havinf a chucking contest for 3 quarters. Mitchells ego won't allow him to let someone else outshine him on the biggest stage.

Cavs future playoff success and title prospects are riding on Mobley's progress adding strength, refining his handle and footwork. Implementation requires coaching support for increasing his role on offense. Either KA enforces his will on the offense or there are some hard backcourt personnel decisions that need to be made to remove uncoachable elements.

It doesn't handcuff anything. It just means one of the smurfs must be moved. Gilbert should mandate it.
Not being sarcastic, I thought once we reached the 2nd apron we're basically screwed, that moving anyone unless dollar for dollar is not possible.

Trust me, a dollar for dollar move is possible. Evan needs to move to the pf full time. That means giving Allen probably 2 new bodies to help him. I think people will be surprised how easy it is.

I hope so...I think this is our team for the next 2 years barring a miracle. I will say I think DM is smart, which lead to him making bad decisions this post season. I believe he thought this was his last year to carry the team...knew Mobley was the future and talked and played that was for much of the regular season. The playoffs were the time for him to carry the team and after game 1 his desire to do this took over.

Maybe pie in the sky but from here forward I think a majority of the offense is going to be designed inside out with Mobley being the key. He needed this upcoming off-season worth of development to make it work anyhow, despite the growth and ascension this year.

Ev could have averaged an efficient 25+ this series.

Coaching failure is correct.

Those Pacers bigs wanted nothing to do with Mobley.

Not only did we not give him the ball enough. The guards running themselves ragged on offense means Mobley has to cover for their tired injured asses on defense.

Give the ball to your All-NBA big and save some damn energy.

I actually agree with this. Either it's the strategy or the accountability. Next year needs to be about making him the focus. Honest conversations must happen on what the barriers are

He’s never gonna flourish because..
1)by nature Mitchell is gonna get his shots up. Even if I don’t think he’s selfish it’s just the way he plays
2) Garland wants recognition and to be an all star so bad, he feels the need to chick to try to keep up with Mitchell’s pace. And when he isn’t getting the all star nods he demanded a trade last year remember

I don’t disagree with your main points, and think the Garland and Mitchell combo definitely hold Evan back. However, I don’t believe the trade request rumor was true.
