If he ends up having even a decent jumper and 75%+ on FT, Giannis will eventually surpass LeBron, and go down as the GOAT

What a story

I am not so sure he goes down as the GOAT, but he is potentially top 10 all time.

That's a stretch man bron is going 17 straight season averaging 25 points. Giannis is starting.

He’s been 28-13-5 and a DPOY contender for the last 5 years.

As I said, if he adds a decent jumper, I’m betting he’ll be the greatest basketball player any of us have ever seen.

Giannis is about to be 27 and no jumper from what we have seen. So if he keeps working on it, and he will, he will be what 30 or so before its at all consistent, that will be too late and on the downside of his prime.

I dont want to bash the guy, he is a phenomenal player, and an all time great, first ballot HOF....but GOAT? Probably the 3rd or 4th best player playing right now on an all time list....Lebron, Durant....and maybe Steph, but i like Giannis over Steph.

But when all of their careers are done, it will be Lebron, Durant then Giannis in that order

I don’t think you’ve been paying much attention to Giannis if you don’t think he’s shown signs of a jumper.

He has an unprecedented career path. I don’t think it’s wise to assume he’s incapable of developing his jump shot just a little further.

I’m just telling you what I’m seeing. He’s awesome now, and if he develops a jumper, I believe he’ll be the best to ever do it. He’s been nearly unstoppable without it.

You are entitled to your opinion. But if he develops a jumper, that means he went 10-12 years without a jumper, those years still count too. Best to ever do it is tough. You are competing with Lebron, Jordan and Kareem. 4, 6 and 6 championships, 4-6 MVPS, multiple finals MVPS, 3 of the top 4 in scoring. Assists numbers top 3 for Lebron, High block numbers and rebounds for Kareem.

Best to ever do it? The 1 GOAT, that is such a high standard, and not insulting Giannis, but even with a jumper not sure he gets there, and that is a big if at this point.

Honestly I still take someone like Hakeem over Giannis for where i see his career....and I LOVE Giannis. Just such a high standard when you are looking at the top 5 much less #1.

We will see.

10-12 years!? He hasn’t been in the league that long!

Also, I care way more about a player’s peak than anything else. So, no, the years without a jumper won’t lessen what I see when/if he gets one.

And I believe that if he develops a jumper in the near future, we’ll see him become the best player we’ve ever seen.

62 players in NBA history (preseason, regular season, post season) have put up a line with at least: *Since 1983-84
17 points
9 rebounds
6 assists
1 steal
1 block
1 three
0 turnovers.

Evan Mobley joins that list tonight.

LeBron, Dirk, Alvin Robinson, Charles Barkley, Tobias Harris, Vince Carter, T-Mac, Antoine Walker, Larry Bird are the only ones to do it multiple times (most being 3).

Going to be "Magically Delicious" watching this guy grow up before our eyes

It's a lot easier to be patient with concepts like long term growth, player development, and measured realistic progress when you have a player who you strongly believe can be a sure fire cornerstone player

His defense effects the game so much and he seems very disciplined with it.

He played within the offense and scored 17 and made 6 assists… I don’t remember anything being run for him.

Outstanding stuff, fantastic debut.
