Cavs needs to pull a Jason Kidd and have Mobley play PG so he can develop his PG skills, handles, etc. Just like Kidd did with Giannis. It would only benefit him in the long run.
I was thinking the same thing last night. It became clear JBB did not have confidence in Pangos to even put him back into the game. They should've just let Mobley run the offense as the defacto backup PG.

With that said I think JBB will be desperate to get that first win of the season which may not happen until next month. I'm assuming by the end of January he will be fired and this team will be so far down the standings they will be back to player development mode and could see Mobley doing more facilitating at that point (similar to what they were trying to do with a lesser player in Okoro last year).

You know, that’s not the worst idea in the world. This year will be about development anyways. If Mobley shows something, perhaps he can even become a SF.

Mobley does things RIGHT NOW that even the most-hyped big men prospects are hoped to develop as they mature. It's actually incredible.

Specifically, I'm referring to his passing ability, both within the post as well as out to open shooters and his pull up mid range jumper.

Both of those skills are things that prospects are hoped to develop to take the step and become true stars, and Mobley does both of them at a plus level right now. He sees open passes before they're there, understands where guys should be in the offense, and has that one dribble jumper that took Anthony Davis 2-3 years to truly master.

He reminds me of Kyrie as a rookie - his skills are incredibly-polished from day 1 and it's going to be about learning the NBA game, growing into a man's body, and finding ways to make the most impact on winning possible.

My god we got so lucky in so many ways and are in for such a treat. It's clear as day to me.

His polish is really surprising. Everything he does fast and under control

He still moves a lot like a baby giraffe at times to me.

:conf (11):
I can see that too, but it’s because he’s so long, thin, and high waisted. The guy is a good athlete for his size, which was evidenced by him doing those backflips on the beach

I’ve seen real tangible improvements in his game already, which makes me really excited to watch him for the rest of the year. The thing that jumps out to me most right now is how fluid his jump shot looks and how quickly he’s able to get into it. Watch him in college and the gather and pull up on those jumpers takes a lot longer, now it seems like a legitimate weapon. And the free throw stroke just seems a lot more fluid, only two games in but the results have been good from the line too.

The best rookie we’ve had since LeBron. Was a treat to watch him in person yesterday.
That's great! Lucky you. Kinda cool to see fans at the games again. Even if the team isn't winning it will be a treat to watch Mobley develop.

I read that as “backflips on the bench” and thought I missed something

I was thinking his game looks pretty mature like Kyrie looked like vet. He is amazing though. Even last night it was not a great game for him and he was still awesome and scored 13

I thought his off-the-dribble pull-up on Miles Bridges late in the game looked a little quicker on the release.
