I just watched the game. His defense is extraordinary- how he uses his hands, body, footwork — he is able to alternate shots and provides a big impact there. Many times he was able to make the opposing player shoot a difficult shot. His presence on the court defensively as well as on the perimeter is so refreshing and this is just his first game.

Offensively we didn’t design any plays and he managed to get 17 points. And zero turnovers. I always liked this passing but his vision and IQ is off the charts.

Such a great debut of him. Best player on the team and will be better. So excited.

I love how Mobley just plays within the flow of the game and doesn't force anything. Even though he is lacking strength, Mobley makes his presence felt with his length, skills, & ability to run the court. He just knows how to play the game and has been well-schooled

Great debut, horrible +\- in -18.
Mobley was on the floor with Garland, Sexton, Marky, and Cedi during the Grizzlies 21-2 run in the second quarter. So he was a -19 for those four-and-a-half minutes, +1 in his other 34 minutes.

During that run Mobley scored the only basket. He missed one shot. The Grizzlies hit four 3-pointers while Garland went 0-for-3 and Marky 0-for-1 from deep. Basically they got hot and we got cold from the 3-point line at the same time. Mobley wasn't that involved in the offense as Garland took a 3 on three consecutive possessions and missed them all. Marky missed three shots and had a turnover.

So I woudn't get too hung up on that -18. For one game it's a meaningless stat. Mobley played great. If this had been his 40th game I'd have been very happy. For him to put up a line of 17/9/6 in his first NBA game, well, that's only been done once before. And he did it efficiently; 17 points in 13 shots. He also dished out six assists. He was valuable on both ends of the floor.

I couldn't have been happier with his debut. Without a doubt the most impactful defender on this team. Could easily see him vying for Defensive Player of the Year quite often throughout his career. The 6 assists were things of beauty, and I thought that the Allen+Mobley frontcourt could be a real solid foundation for the identity of this team. Really excited to watch this unicorn blossom throughout the year.

Loved the game last night. He plays with such smooth athleticism and hit a three as well. He's the perfect big for the modern NBA. He's going to be a stud.

His vision was something we saw flashes of in the preseason, but the brilliant timing/anticipation that accompanied that vision last night was dazzling.

There were a few occasions that he sensed the double team or just Allen’s guy sagging/sliding towards him (he already has some gravity on offense), and made the pass at just the right time to take advantage of their positioning. I think that’s one of my biggest gripes with Sexton is that he’s always a split second behind the true advantage point of undisciplined defenders… Mobley already has that sense of timing, which is just wild for someone his age and size.

Also - good to see that even in season game speed, his unbelievably slow release is still effective because of his height. He’s so slow, but he’s tall enough to overcome it. If he quickens his release even slightly, he’ll be able to pull up anytime he’s not doubled.

Cavs needs to build this team around Mobley and Allen NOW. Trade everyone else. Get some shooters and a decent 3 and D SF.

Mobley already has some of the best footwork in the league. Just elite and in control.

And he actually boxed out guys for rebounds! What a great thing to see.

Between his foot speed and wingspan, he can get to shots, driving lanes
and rebounding position in a flash. Personal stats will never show
how much he changes the opposition attacks.

His presence changes more shots and plays than anything we have seen
from a Cavs player in some time.

I love the article on ESPN, they tried their best to find something negative so it fits in with the rest of the article with Green/Suggs/Giddey/Barnes struggling
gotta suck off Cade u no
