He is ridiculous defensively, genuine superstar on that side of the floor.

He obviously has a ways to go offensively but the magic were incredible defensively and everybody not named Donovan Mitchell struggled to get anything going. Their length 1-5 made it tricky for everyone.

I'm interested to see the offense vs the Celtics however assume he is probably still relegated to finisher and garbage man offense.

He played like a man in Game 7 and had a massive impact on the game. Happy for him and hope this pushes him to be even better.

Garland, not so much. He stinks. Too little, too weak. Not made for playoff basketball.

It's too bad he won't be talked about at all for DPoY but if there was one for the playoffs...he is clearly ahead of everyone by a good bit.

Certainly other players have sexier stats, and you see Wemby doing great things, but I can't help but think what an impact Mobley did for the team day one in terms of wins and losses. Maybe other players have better numbers, but Mobley does seem to improve the only number that really matters most more than most of the folks he gets compared to.

That contested shots number is insane.

They also posted the stat that in game 7, Magic shot 6-22 (27%) when Mobley was the primary defender.

People constantly hand wringing over his offense almost distracts from how unbelievable his defense has been.

He’s one of those players where, if he can just moderately improve his strength, I’m sure he’s going to see a big upswing on offense. As those physical possessions where he’s getting pushed or grabbed are going to turn in to layups or FT’s, instead of tie ups or TO’s.

Extra strength will be a huge component of Evans' game taking a leap.

Also the exit of JBB.

The board already knows how I feel about dg but the last qtr he also showed what he can be if he can get out of his head he will be fine I just hope he takes last series as a positive and show us more agaisnt Boston but if he plays just like he did agaisnt Orlando we will be going home in 4 or 5 games

He absolutely needs to develop that short roll floater/push shot. Having that makes him a legit threat and opens the passing lanes to make the weakside pass.

He also needs to stop giving up the ball quickly on top of the key. He needs to learn how to look at the rim, pump fake and go. Opens alot of good things for the offense if he jus becomes aggressive.

The volume in here is much louder in Cavs losses than Cavs wins..

Mobley has to be better but also had 16 rebounds, 5 offensive rebounds, 5 blocks and was a +9..

Carter, Wagner and Isaac had 11 total rebounds..
I've been in a heavy work cycle so my time for this forum is reduced. I had some negative things to say about Evan earlier in the series, so I'll give the positive now. I re-watched the second half and Evan stepped up big-time. he contributed on both ends and he was a major factor in winning game 7. We need that to continue to grow.
