Evolve?

Think I'm going to pick it up tomorrow. Anyone else plan on getting it? Thoughts?

I was waiting on reviews because I love the concept but videos had me less than impressed. So far the buzz is decently positive, but it seems like the best thing going for it is that it's fresh and new. I don't like that. I'd rather a game that builds on a tried and true formula and is very polished and neat, rather than a flawed game with a unique concept.

On the off chance you've never heard of GMG, I have ordered several games from them over the past few years and can confirm they are legit.

Dying Light and Arkham Knight are also available there for 45 bucks, among others.

I've got it preordered for the XB1. 1. Had to buy it, it's Valve. Valve doesn't release shitty games. 2. Was a huge L4D fan and this feels like it should be the spiritual sequel instead of the junked shit they were forced to put out as L4D2.

Valve has pushed boundaries of gameplay before with L4D, Portal, etc. Looking forward to this being the next one.

To be honest, I think Evolve looks like a decent enough game, but I am too vehemently opposed to their horrible DLC set-up that I have no interest in giving them my money. It feels a lot like Destiny. They're selling us half their game and then expecting us to pay for the rest in pieces. Fuck that. Valve would have given us that shit for free.

The season pass for this game is 25 bucks. In addition to the sixty the game costs out of the gate. Fuck. That.

I was following TotalBiscuit's twitter review of the game last night, he didnt have many good things to say.

DLC out the ass, one of the guns took up 25% of the screen, no FOV sliders for PC, he had some other errors... in the day and age of free reviews all over the internet, its hard to want a game that isnt at least an 8.5/10

Nope. You don't even get all the monsters unless you pre-ordered, which is total bullshit. There just doesn't seem like enough content in the game to justify the sixty dollar price tag (I know I could get it for 45, but sixty is the MSRP) plus the ridiculous amount of DLC they have planned. It's pretty clear they are selling a quarter of a game and expecting players to shell out cash for the other 75% just like Bungie is doing with Destiny.

I'm having a great time with this game so far about 3 matches in. It reminds me a lot of Team Fortress 2 with how each class plays, and its fucking awesome.

You have to unlock new characters by completing different tasks, but they don't seem hard at all and I should have most characters unlocked rather quickly.

Haven't even played online yet because there's a 3 GB update right off the bat.

Not gonna lie this game is fucking awesome. Each class is just a whole different way to play and gives you a completely different experience.

Hunting a monster is fun as hell! Exciting and sometimes frightening. Have yet to play as a monster so I'll keep posted.

Would recommend this if you have a free 60 dollars and are looking for a new game to play.
