It isn't cheering for injuries to note them.
Health is a leading factor in the evaluations of any ballplayer. To point out that Naquin has a loooong track record of injuries since becoming a pro is just as important as noting his ability to play RF well, CF poorly, along with his hot zone of pitches down and in and his cold zone of heat above the belt.
Players in general establish fairly consistent patterns over the course of a career. Naquins is time on the IL and season stats being driven by one or two very hot months amid long spans of nothing. So far this season, he is doing exactly what he has always done.
Now, there is lots of speculation about trades we could possibly make, and a lot of names being bandied about. None of them are having as good of a season as Naquin. But, if he had never been an Indian, and you evaluated him as a trade acquisition, would you really want to give much for him? Those that only look at stats would. Those that look at everything wouldnt.
