Ex Indians update

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Pretty sure Bimbo said he had some of the best exit velocity in the minors but for where he was level wise paired with his age and most is he really sticking behind the plate not sure I’m going to be handwringing this one too much now or in the future because the return was a MLB CFer they seem to really like. Sometimes you give away quality players that will eventually make it.

edit - in Cleveland’s minors not all of baseball minors

He had a plus contact bat and even if he doesnt stay behind the plate, I think his bat translate to the bigs in due time... thats my take on him...

I can see it but still not worried. Wish him the best of luck and hopefully it becomes a win-win (well for his career, f*ck the Astros). Trades like these need to be made, imo

He is probably a DH/wobbly 1st baseman if he makes it to the show. Maybe he can stick as a C, but it doesn't seem very likely. I doubt Houston will be rostering him so he will be exposed. That said, its extremely hard to see someone being that speculative on him at this point of his career.

They may protect him... it wouldn't actually surprise me..

They may, Cleveland wasn’t imo. Good trade.

I think part of the reason they made the trade was the fact they didn't have a spot on the 40 in 22 for him as well, plus we got a player we wanted as , so a win-win at the end of the day...

The Pirates have released first baseman John Nogowski and outfielder Ka’ai Tom, relays Mike Persak of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette (Twitter link). Both players had been with Triple-A Indianapolis after being outrighted last month. Each of Nogowski and Tom would have qualified for minor league free agency this offseason if not reselected to the 40-man roster before the end of the year. The Pittsburgh front office evidently determined neither player was in line for a promotion, so they’ve elected to cut both loose a few weeks early.

We could have taken Tom back, but elected not to.

I have never liked Trevor Bauer as a person, but i hate that he is banned without even being charged with a crime yet. I know its a different sport, but 22 law suites against Watson and he isnt banned or even on the exempt list while they investigate. I know he isnt playing, but thats because he wants traded, not because of the lawsuits.

Just seems that we are at a place now that they are guilty without even being charged. Numerous of the accusations from other athletes have proven to be false, i just think its a very dangerous precedent from a legal and quite frankly (my bad Franciscoly) ethical

Is it a societal or ethical problem if Bauer has by his own actions made himself unmarketable?
