Ex Indians update

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
TBH, I was never very high on the Indians chances this season. Not with a slashed payroll like we had. Even before the injuries hit, I thought our roster was crap compared to the White Sox.
Who did we start at 1B - Jake Bauers. In RF - Ben Gamel. Please.

The silver lining was that when the pitching staff went down with injuries, the kids were thrown into the fire - and developed very nicely.
Agree with this.. we had also lost what was two of our three most productive bats in Frankie Lindor and Los.. the outlook for 2021 was guarded optimistic.. at best.. Realistically.. no chance of competing unless the Tribe got very lucky and the CWSox had a nuclear melt down..

It was hard not to think we were "doomed" when Ben Gamel was batting leadoff as well.

We also had Gimenez at SS and Logan Allen in the rotation, if I'm not mistaken.

Life is funny sometimes,,,

Eddie Robinson, the last surviving member of the World Champion 1948 Cleveland Indians, died Monday. One day after the last Cleveland Indians game.
He was 100 years old, and the oldest surviving Major League player over all.
RIP.

Even more amazing he went on to win over 400 football games as the coach at Grambling.

Christian Arroyo, Andrew Velasquez and Kevin Plawecki starting in the playoffs tonight.

Whose ready for another offseason of relentlessly beating the dead horse of minor league deals, role players and the platoon?

I am.

In all fairness - I never understood why we moved on from Plawecki...

Sort of playing here.. :)

I actually liked Plawecki better than Leon (sorry @CDAV45 I know he was your favorite).

Plawecki has at least hit, but honestly that trio though hasn't been that good overall at the end of the day. Solid backups and nothing more...

Listen dude, if you ever talk down on Leon again..................

It would be accurate to do.
The issues of Perez staying healthy and problems having a solid backup catcher were part of the reason Hedges was acquired..

No question Leon gave his best, but he realized his game was slipping so he tried to steal reaction moments here & there to help him keep up. Unfortunately it resulted in more catcher interference calls in a few weeks then Roberto Perez has had in his entire CLE career..
