Ex Indians update

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Lindor hit .333/.989 through the first 12 games of July, then injured his oblique two weeks ago. He's still not swinging a bat. Looks like he'll be out for a while. He was just getting on a roll. But the Mets are in first place by four games and nobody else in their division is over .500.

Naquin is at .243/.725 for the season. He's slumping lately, hitting .218 in July. They have him playing mostly centerfield (202 AB's). As a CF he's hitting .208. In right and left field he's hitting .341 in 91 AB's. I think the pressure of playing center is affecting him at the plate.

Brad Hand has five wins and 21 saves. Jesus Aguilar is having a nice season in Miami with a line of .267/.801 with 75 RBI's in 100 games. He's hitting .337 with runners on and .327 with RISP.

Carlos Santana keeps rolling along at age 35. His numbers are down a little from his career averages (.232/.745 against .247/.808). Father Time is finally starting to make inroads to his bat speed. His OBP and slugging are also down a bit.

Corey Kluber, also 35, got off to a great start with the Yankees, going 4-3 with a 304 ERA. However, on May 19 he threw a no-hitter on 101 pitches. The following game he left with shoulder tightness after three innings and was diagnosed with a shoulder strain and has not pitched since.

all of naquins numbers on offense are now below his career numbers - throw in his D WAR and he has a -.7 WAR overall
-
Kluber is now a 30 something broken down nag - father time remains undefeated

Tom Brady would disagree

What if…….Jup IS Bauer

FWIW, he hasn't posted since June 28.

The same day a domestic violence restraining order was put out against Bauer and this whole thing pretty much went skyward.

Hope he comes back, all things considered.

@jup is still visiting, he's just not posting.
It's been a rough month for a lot of people!
Yep pop in and out fairly regularly - been under the gun big time trying to get a bunch of tax work done.

Besides, what is there for me to say about the Indians. I talk pitching and no one is going to like my critiquing of the starting staff. I had already said I didn't think any of them were front line starters and as it turns out ...
Quantril is still probably the best of the bunch.

On the sticky side, after saying for years that it made a huge difference and getting constantly pooh poohed, maybe the Karinchak results have now made it obvious to more.

And on the Bauer front, I know way more than I can say, so saying nothing is the best. However, I will make one comment - don't count that guy out, he has had to fight long odds way to often. I suspect we have not heard the last from him yet, even though the climb he faces now is with the deck really stacked against him.

BTW, I am not TB, for what that is worth.

One last thing since I took the time to comment. And this clearly won't be liked.

Even though I wish no one bad health, especially at my age, but I still couldn't be happier that someone I absolutely despise is an x-Indian, at least for the remainder of the year. Wouldn't mind it being permanent.

Despising a guy like Tito while clinging to a guy like Bauer says everything anybody needs to know.

The deck was stacked against Bauer by Bauer himself.

Listen. I hope this doesn’t turn into another pissing match between posters. I don’t know anyone involved in Cleveland baseball personally - that includes players, staff, and people on message boards. I don’t know Trevor Bauer or Tito Francona or Jup or CATS. I know that Jup and CATS both know a lot about baseball. I know that Bauer has been ahead of the curve on the approach to pitching and thats to his credit. I know Tito has been a successful manager for decades. Are these guys “good people”? I do not know. Bauer is in serious trouble and I don’t know every particular detail about what happened. Tito isn’t liked by Jup and I don’t know every particular detail about that, either. I wish we all could quit the animosity, that’s all. It takes away from the enjoyment of this board. And I think most of us would agree.
