Ex Indians update

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
after turning down the trade to cleveland, lucroy was with 8 different clubs over the next 6 years --- still, a couple hits in the '16 series and we mighta won it all

He finished 16 strong and would have been under contract for 17, so it wouldn't have hurt us much to have him...

Interesting chart found on Reddit for trades by WAR. So far he's done 9 teams: Team trades by WAR

This has been a fun follow on Reddit for something most of us already knew about the success of this FO when it comes to trades, but I want to add the cumulative WAR gained or lost on trades since 2010 on the 12 teams he has done to this point. Fun fact, guy doing this is a Guards fan who I happen to know.

1. Cleveland: 87.6 WAR
2. Tampa: 59.9 WAR
3. Milwaukee: 34.7 WAR
4. Cubs: 33.1 WAR
5. Cincy: 21.6 WAR
6. White Sox: -8.3 WAR
7. Pittsburgh: -9.7 WAR
8. Detroit: -23 WAR
9. Colorado: -32.8 WAR
10. Seattle: -54.6 WAR
11. Miami: -80.6 WAR
12. San Diego: -102.4 WAR

It's no surprise seeing those two organizations at the top.

But, you are always remembered for your loses -- couldn't straightened out Urshella and now Reyes. Let go of Phillips. Naquin and other 1st round bombs. Just shows there is more to being a GM (like trying to soothe out egos like Kyrie and LeBron).

The one chart I would like to see is the WAR added from Draft and International signees to show the whole picture (of where GMs/FO add value by finding the right people). Cincy can rank as a top-10 eventually in added trade value from trades but where do they fall short, as their record hasn't been too successful? It will also probably show how some GMs like Yankees, Padres and others make up for other losses through FA signings.

But what about Jesus Christ Aguilar?

The Cardinals announced that they have recalled right-hander Jake Woodford from Memphis, with lefty T.J. McFarland being designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

McFarland, 33, is a veteran playing in his tenth MLB season, having previously suited up for the Orioles, Diamondbacks and Athletics. Last year, he signed a minor league deal with the Nationals but was granted his release in order to pursue an opportunity with the Cardinals. That ended up working out very well for McFarland and the Cards, as he registered an ERA of 2.56 over 38 2/3 innings with the club. McFarland was always a low-strikeout, high-grounder guy, which he continued with a 14.6% strikeout rate and 63.7% ground ball rate.

catching some mets/reds here in cbus the last few days - lindor has become the first met ss to have multiple 20 hr seasons - carrasco had a solid start lat night and is now 13-4 with a nice fip of 3.41 - pitchers keep throwing low pitches to naquin and he knocks em out as he did today - ops would be 800+ if he didnt have 45 ab's v lefties
