Nolan Jones now with 16 K's in 35 PA (46% K) with a .383 OPS in Spring Training. Bradley Zimmer-esque...

Kid is too sexy to struggle like this. Far too sexy. Hopefully the cool Colorado air helps him get back on the schneid.

Seems like Micah Pries slid right into the Nolan Jones "void" without any trouble. Oh and he is likely a better defender and batter.. Definitely a better runner and isn't rostered.

Not going to miss a beat, and probably picked up a minimum of a half-step.

NoJo is going to play 3B for Colorado supposedly, so there's that, but he's not supposed to be very good at it. I'm not sure who I'd rather have as a random organization all else equal. I'm just not convinced Pries's bat holds up. He doesn't seem exceptional in any aspect of the batting game, but maybe something's different now.

NoJo as I have mentioned in quite a few places just seems to me to be someone whose market value tanked and we sold low on him . Sometimes market value is not that connected to where they are on prospect lists and we got something back but I don't think Brito's market value was high either. But so far I like it and would bet we will come out ahead in the end.

Heard that is a possibility in the aftermath of the Brendan Rodgers injury, but they did recently sign Mike Moustakas as well.

Jones is playing DH (his best position IMO) today and is 0-2 with a K so far.

Now 1-4 with 2Ks. It was a single.

Pries has hit at every level with power, and usually without whiffing a lot.

His high K rate in A+ appears to be a blip.

He's averaged an XBH every ten PAs in his career, and about that at every level. He had 52 last season.

And he has hit lefties well, .800 OPS both seasons.

If he continues to hit in Columbus, he will garner some prospect status. It would help if he showed that he can be a viable option in the outfield, although his chance to make an impact in Cleveland is limited, due to the wealth of left handed corner players throughout the system.

Though having a guy like Pries allowed Cleveland to be able to move Benson and Jones for other players... Plus I wonder if Pries on paper would be better to have Palacios on paper as well since Pries can play a few positions without the fear of defense that Palacios has...
