The word is out to law enforcement officials: be on the lookout for a cell phone that's actually a firearm -- a .22-calliber pistol capable of firing four rounds at the touch of a button.

Nick Casale, the former counter-intelligence chief of New York City's Metropolitan Transit Authority says the guns are high-tech and could eventually be produced of high-grade plastic -- making them very difficult to detect:

"These are being manufactured by people who have the equipment and the knowledge to produce guns."

Police have been cautioned to be careful inspecting cell phones at courthouses and other security check points. In an internal memo, New York police officers were warned: "This gun is very difficult to detect visually, but once handled it will feel heavier than a real cellular phone."

In a world where many people have cell phones, experts say, police officers will become increasingly suspicious.

Federal firearms agents say cell phone guns are only the latest in a long line of seemingly harmless but lethal weapons, including belt-buckle guns.

Let me pop a .22 in your ass and see if you still wanna joke around about it. :chuckles: I don't see what the big deal is here in Ohio we can carry guns if we get the permit and i plan on getting a permit in the summer when i get time for the class. Doesn't really matter if people have cell phone guns when people have real guns in holsters legally.
