This is one of the games I was waiting on for this latest console generation, the last 2 were great games imo. This one moves back to the East Coast and is set in the Boston area so it will be interesting to see if the bring in the lore concerning MIT and all that.

There is also supposed to be an extended demo by Bethesda at E3, 15-20 minutes of game play that will get shown off. Not sure if it will be press only though

I cried tears of joy.

Better late than never. Looks stellar.

Looks good, really need to step their overall quest game up side and main, witcher 3 has set the bar on them, i can't go back to generic fetch quests with no story.

Yeah, it'll be interesting to see if they evolve the questing system, which really hasn't changed in a Bethesda game in, well, ever. If I had to put money on it, though, I'd bet that it will basically be Fallout 3 with a fresh coat of paint, kind of how Skyrim was basically just prettier Oblivion.

I agree that they really need to up their ante regarding the quests, though. Some of Witcher 3's side quests were better than the main stories in Skyrim and Oblivion.

The Bloody Baron questline was better than any quest I've played since RPGs went full 3D. Absolutely phenomenal characters and plot development. Hell, even the contract killing cases were a step above the normal kill quests as you had to investigate and plan a battle strategy beforehand.

Regarding Fallout, I'll still buy it regardless but I'm not expecting too much. Probably same old Bethesda formula that people are getting tired of now that they see how revolutionary the Witcher 3 was.

Skyrim didn't feel anything like Oblivion to me; I felt it was so gimped and weak that the graphical enhancements were meaningless.

But, you guys are really hyping up this Witcher 3... Fuck.. I guess I'll be forced to play it now.

Honestly, I was getting tired of it before Witcher 3. I played the hell out of Morrowind and Fallout 3, but I struggled at times to keep playing Oblivion and I just kind of lost interest during my Skyrim playthrough. It was a big world and it was obviously very beautiful, but there just didn't seem to be anything all that compelling to do. I think the point I finally quit for good was when I found myself in these massive ruins (Dwemer ruins, I think) trying to find like twenty flowers. I started struggling to find them after about fifteen and just said fuck it, this is stupid. Haven't loaded up the game since.

I did basically do everything in Fallout 3, though. It probably helps that Fallout's world is more interesting than the Elder Scrolls worlds, Morrowind excluded.

I just found Oblivion to be so generic, world-wise. All the ruins looked identical and the world itself just wasn't terribly compelling. Skyrim, at least, felt like it had things to see in the world.

As far as Witcher 3 goes...it's easily my GotY right now. There are some things about it that annoy me (see my cons in the Witcher 3 thread), but overall it's just got some of the best writing of any RPG I've ever played, and the world feels real. Also, you can enter buildings without loading times! In fact, the only loading that takes place in Witcher 3 is when you travel between the major areas in the game (and when you fast travel, but that's generally less than five seconds). You should definitely buy it.

Gour, it's a top 3 wrpg of all time for me beside baldurs gate 2 and PST. There are flaws, but it's so revolutionary that you don't really mind them.

I think that goes without saying though. The side quests in skyrim and oblivion were better than the main quests in their own game

I put so many hours into fallout 3/new vegas that this is a no brainier for me. Can't wait for the gameplay videos.

Skyrim was a game that I put down for a really long time because I just couldn't get into it, then randomly came back and played the shit out of it.

I just picked up Witcher 3 myself and I can already tell that this game is everything it was hyped up to be, and then some. My only minor issues with the game so far are the controls at times (ESPECIALLY when you are swimming) and how they did the fast travel system. Other than that, this game is flawless.

New Vegas took over my life. Playing it on the PC with mods was just.. fuck...

Mods make these types of games so much better. I forget which game it was (i think 3) but there was a mod where you could toss nukes like 300 yards. That was crazy fun. I was sniping dudes with fucking atomic bombs.

Swimming makes me want to kill myself in Witcher 3. Luckily you don't really need to do that much of it.
