Fallout 4

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I cannot wait to have an option for deathclaw fights rather than having to console command them in. Well worth picking up the season pass before it jumps to $50 since they have more DLC planned.

Just picked up Fallout 4 for like$35 at GameStop. My new Favorite game.

Having so much fun with how deep the game is. Whether you are following the story, doing side quests, building settlements(Sims), loot farming, etc....just so much to do. And I have yet to finish the story.

It's easily my favorite game out right now. Just so much to do, and shit you might actually want to do, in a unique non-fantasy setting - which is so appreciated.

I hear that the Far Harbor DLC is even more open world and open character than the main game; which is great news.

Far Harbor is great, really enjoying it so far.

Cool new follower, new nautical themed weapons such as the harpoon gun, handful of new creatures, etc. And like the rest of Fallout, lots of side quest and a main story line, which is one of the more interesting ones to me in the game.

Is it just me, or is the Spray n Pray the best gun in the game?

It might help that I have the Perk that creates extra damage from Auto weapons.

But still, the fact that it has explosive bullets, a silencer, and the recoil is not bad....its just making it ridiculously easy to tear NPC's limbs off with this gun. #SmoothCriminal

It's definitely up there.. Best gun though is pretty subjective, since many of the guns have different characteristics, and different qualities at different levels.

I'm actually getting ready to start a melee build; as my understanding is that melee is the strongest build in the game, by far. Which is pretty interesting compared to previous Fallout games.

OnePunch Man build wrecks everything.

So I just discovered that the Demolition Perk makes the Spray N Pray even stronger, so....thats crazy. It makes Rockert Launchers and any other weapons who have explosive characteristics even stronger. So this perk is what Im about to Max level up next.

Demolition Expert is a perk you really want to get ASAP, like early on. The power of grenades in Fallout 4 is completely different and unexpectedly more useful than Fallout 3 or New Vegas. Same for pistols, which seem to be far more useful than previously.

Also, the throwing arc you get is invaluable. You can easily clear out entire groups with Demolitions Expert lvl 2 or 3; especially when playing on Survivor mode and going up against hordes of Super Mutants. It's also far more useful against Suiciders since the splash damage radius will almost assuredly detonate their mini-nuke.

Also, important to note...

Demolition Expert perk stacks, AFAIK...

So for example, if you have Rifleman maxed, then you can get the Legendary Explosive weapons and have that stack with Demolition Expert.

i.e., Legendary Explosive Combat Shotgun's DMG would have 4x base bonus to damage while taking away 30% of targets DMG resistance. Add Bloody Mess lvl 3 and bump that up by another 15%.

You can start to get massive single hit damage here; well above 300 points per shot.

For automatic "explosive" weapons, swap out Rifleman for Commando.

Essentially, by level 45, you really could be one-hitting most enemies in the game depending upon your build and play-style.

Pistols were godly in Fallout 4. I was wrecking shit with them. Carried like four different ones around with me simply so I had a little variety.

I'm at the story arc where I'm now completing missions for the institute. In my opinion, the story has really fallen off. Does it remain shitty or should I keep pushing ahead?

If you don't already know what happens, then, yes, the story gets better. The initial institute story arc is meant to be a lull in the game prior to the rather large decisions and revelations that come thereafter.

Depending upon what faction are you currently looking to support, the story will change substantially.

IMHO, New Vegas is probably the best Fallout game in the series; and the original story arc in that game was pretty shit.. In fact, it was really the plot more so than any semblance of story about the Courier, that made the main arc worth playing.

When they tried to build an arc around the Courier in the later DLC it just felt.. well.. stupid. So FO4, in this respect, is a bit better than that.

I still love this game so fucking much. Just started another playthrough for the holiday season so I'll have a bit of time. It's like ultra-hardcore mode. Such a classic game.
