Fantasy Football 2019

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
For those in FAAB leagues, how much do you plan to spend this week?

I’m debating on starting Lamar over Rivers. Am I crazy?

You could argue that Team 2 in that gets the three best players in the trade, at least for fantasy purposes.

I'll take a healthy Will Fuller over Adam Thielen this year, but I'll also be shocked if Fuller makes it through the entire season without missing time, as it hasn't happened yet. That being said, I'm fading Thielen hard right now because I really dislike the OC situation in Minnesota. Thielen's production took a huge dip when DeFilippo was replaced, and I'm worried that might carry over into this year because Mike Zimmer wants to ground and pound the ball despite the fact that he has two of the best twenty-ish WRs in the league.

Chubb is so much better than Jordan Howard that it's not even worth discussing. Howard will be a fantasy nobody by the end of the season. He'll be drafted as a handcuff next year if at all. There's already talk of an increased role for Miles Sanders in week two. Dead man walking.

Goff and Jackson is a wash to me. Give me Jackson in fantasy because I like QBs who can score points with their legs and their arms, but it's absolutely possible that Goff outscores him this year. I ended up with almost no Goff in fantasy this year, but that's more because he was consistently overdrafted than because I dislike him.

I feel like Chubb being part of the trade is what makes it one sided. I agree Jordan Howard is fantasy irrelevant even if he is still their names starter. A 3 head RB committee almost never gets a solid fantasy RB.

I basically never protest trades and I am fully against this. It shift so much power towards one team. For reference, team 2 already has Mahomes, Kamara, Antonio Brown, Sammy Walkins and Ekeler.

I have looked up trade value charts and the vast majority say it's extremely one sided trade. I could only find one place that it says it's within 25% of their given point values. One went so far to say that the point values were so much apart it would be require someone like Saquon Barkley to even it out.

Important to remember that Lamar played a D2 college school last week and you probably shouldn't expect as many breakdowns in the secondary when the Ravens play actual NFL teams. Guys like Snead and Boykin had wide open scores because Miami's secondary is literal sewage, not because they're great receivers. I wouldn't expect that kind of production to hold up against even average NFL teams.

Still, he made some nice throws and is always a threat to run one or two in any given week. I think he's a solid starter candidate, but I also think he's going to letdown a lot of people bigtime this week.

Managed to scoop up Tyrell Williams from free agency just ahead of last night’s game, and threw him into my flex spot. Worked out pretty well, although I still lost my game because my opponent started basically the entire Patriots offense.

Was able to snag a gritty week one win in my one paid league this year.

Started:
QB - Watson, 33.4
RB - Mack, 30.4
RB - White, 13.2
WR - Thomas, 24.3
WR - Smith-Schuster, 13.8
WR - Diggs, 5.7
TE - McDonald, 6.0
K - Tucker, 11.0
DEF - Jaguars, -4.0

Kind of lucked out, since my opponent started Tyreek Hill and he left relatively early on and didn't cause any damage. Going to need more out of my two Steelers and Diggs (who was kind of banged up), because I don't forsee Mack getting me 30 points a week. Jags defense against the Chiefs killed me too.

Still, 1-0, and I think I have a chance to make some noise this year.

It's pretty eye opening when you look at the dolphins depth chart. That teams is truly a bunch of no name players.

He's not going to score near forty points every week, but he was a solid starter last year during the games he actually started and he looks to have improved a bit as a passer. He's also got a new coordinator who has a history making QBs in Jackson's mold kill it in fantasy. He did it with Tyrod Taylor in Buffalo and Kaep in San Francisco.

The thing I like most about Jackson is that, if he can't get it done in the passing game, he can make it up by giving you points on the ground. Some QBs (like Goff, for example) are just fucked from a fantasy standpoint when they have a bad passing game.

That's why I made a major point to get Watson in my one super important league this year. Even if he goes out and struggles a bit in the air, he's still a threat to run one in every week. That 21-yd TD he had last night was absolutely massive for me, especially since the guy I was playing had Hopkins.

I think it depends largely on the league, your team, and who is available with regard to FAAB this week. If my team is pretty stacked I'll be more likely to spend more early on to fill out the bottom few spots on my roster with better players. If my team has holes, I'll be more inclined to play it conservative and see how the season plays out, looking to spend big later at the right time.

Nope. Why would that be crazy? If we're being honest, there are about twenty QBs you could make a compelling argument for starting any given week. Jackson is my primary QB in several leagues and I am totally fine with that.

Really FAAB leagues are hard at first because you have to gauge how the rest of the people will bid. I found that people calm down as time goes on about putting up crazy bids.

I don't play in any FAAB leagues right now, I like a normal inverse waiver wire. If your FAAB leagues doesn't have a minimum amount to make a transaction, I would try to make little transactions for $0 and save money for a free agent that is as close to a sure bet as possible.

Someone offered me David Njoku for Mike Evans because my only toight end, Hunter Henry, went down with that knee injury.

When I told him he was an idiot he said "well it's just to get the discussion going, you are supposed to counter". He came back with Njoku for AJ Green. Which is better at least.

But I picked up Jordan Reed as a FA, if he isn't cleared to play I'll just pick up Vernon Davis.

My three teams put up a combined 450 pts week 1 so I'm happy. Of course I only went 2-1 because having the third highest point total in the league wasn't good enough. Fantasy is really stupid.

I fucking hate people who offer obscenely bad trades “to get the discussion going”

If Njoku was a FA I wouldn’t even roster him

“Hey will you trade a WR1 for my stone hands TE Who even without Odell Baker hardly targeted at all last year and now stands to be a minuscule part of the offense?”

“Just getting the discussion going!”

Njoku was a top ten TE last year and is going to be a constant red zone threat this year. The idea that you wouldn't pick him up off of waivers is ridiculous. He's going to get targets and he is going to produce if he is healthy.

That being said, I own virtually zero Njoku this year because I didn't like his ADP. It was too high. He was being drafted up there with Howard and Engram and that's too early for a TE imo unless you're springing for Kelce or Kittle in the second or third. I either got one of the two elite guys or I waited until way late and drafted Andrews, Hockenson, and/or Waller, among a few others, which seems to have been a good call. It does look like I may have faded Engram a bit too much, but we'll have to see if he continues to dominate like he did in week one.

At any rate, Njoku is 100% a startable fantasy TE this year, especially considering I think the Browns offense will be a hell of a lot better than they looked in week one.

I'll also add that the idea that he was hardly targeted last year is patently false. He had just under 90 targets, which is a lot for a second/third tier fantasy TE.
