It's week seven, and that means it's time for another start/sit column. Hopefully you all sat Patrick Mahomes on Thursday. No? Well, as we've said here before, shit happens. On the plus side, at least Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce put forth usable fantasy games. I'm not sure whether or not we can expect that to continue the next few weeks, but if you're a Mahomes owner, you have to at least be encouraged by the fact that he'll be back sooner rather than not at all this year.

And, as Browns fans, we can also be encouraged by the fact that, for one week at least, we won't be disappointed by our team's performance.

My drink of choice while writing this column is High West Rendezvous Rye. I blame any and all incorrect picks on the whiskey.

Anyway, onto the games...

---

Rams @ Falcons
Over/Under - 54

Start:
Jared Goff - Yeah, Goff has been something of a disappointment this year, particularly coming off his pants-shitting performance against San Francisco. However, Atlanta is second to last in the NFL in fantasy points given up to quarterbacks. This is Goff's time to shine, and he's got a game at home against the lowly Bengals next Sunday.

Brandin Cooks - Cooks too has had an up and down year, largely thanks to Goff's reluctance to air it out as he has in years past. This is a week where Goff should be able to connect with Cooks. Fire him up.

Devonta Freeman - Freeman has had a resurgence back to fantasy relevance this year, currently ranking around RB15 in fantasy leagues, a few spots ahead of Todd Gurley. You can probably expect that to continue this week against a poor Rams run defense. Freeman is also averaging almost five targets a game, which means he's still involved if the Falcons are playing from behind.

Sit:
Malcolm Brown - I'm sure a lot of people started Brown last week with Gurley out, although he didn't do too much against that stout 49ers defense. Gurley's back this week, and Browns should go back to your bench where he belongs.

---

Packers vs. Raiders
Over/Under - 46.5

Start:
Josh Jacobs - Green Bay gives up the most fantasy points to opposing backs in the league this year. Easy decision here.

Allen Lazard - If you're in a bind this week, Lazard is an intriguing deep waiver dive at WR. Adams is out and both Allison and Valdes-Scantling are questionable, leaving Lazard in position to receive a chunk of targets this week against a terrible Oakland secondary. He's also a great DFS play at his bargain-basement price.

Sit:
Jamaal Williams - I know Williams tore it up last week with Jones struggling, but the Raiders are one of the best defenders of the rush in the NFL and I just don't trust Williams' talent, which is clearly inferior to that of Jones, who I'd still rather be starting.

Zay Jones - Jones may be the newest member of a Raiders offense lacking at receiver, but I'd be keeping him on the bench until we see how they utilize him.

---

49ers @ Redskins
Over/Under - 42

Start:
Matt Breida & Tevin Coleman - The 49ers have shown that they can maintain two fantasy backs the past few weeks, and this week they head to DC to face a bad Redskins team. Positive game script works in favor of running backs, so expect both Coleman and Breida to get theirs tomorrow.

Sit:
Jimmy Garoppolo - Jimmy G is currently ranked around 25th at his position and he has only had one game above twenty points thus far this season. He should be on waivers in single QB leagues, not in your starting line-up, especially in a game where his team will likely have a positive script. If you're in a bind, however, he could be a decent bye week filler due to the poor Redskins secondary. Chances are you have better options, though.

Case Keenum - Did you see what the 49ers defense did to Baker Mayfield and Jared Goff the past two weeks? Pray for Case Keenum.

Adrian Peterson - The 49ers give up the second-fewest points in the league to opposing backs. Peterson has been held to single digit fantasy points in three of five games this year. Do the math.

---

Colts vs. Texans
Over/Under - 48

Start:
Will Fuller - To me, Fuller is one of those guys that, if you have him on your team, you just have to start him because of his insane ceiling. He had one of the greatest fantasy days ever two weeks ago, and he's a constant threat for a similar performance. I know he's been largely underwhelming other than that big week, but so has DeAndre Hopkins and you're not benching him either.

TY Hilton - Hilton goes up against one of the worst defenses in the league at surrendering points to opposing wideouts at home in what projects to be a high-scoring affair. He's an easy start this week.

Carlos Hyde - The past two weeks, Hyde has seen over twenty carries while Duke Johnson has seen 9 and 5, respectively. Duke has been very efficient with his carries this year, averaging 6.5 yards per to Hyde's 4.3, but for whatever reason he's just not being utilized. If Hyde continues to get bell cow carries, he should continue to be a solid flex option going forward. Nice of the Texans to give the Browns a third round pick for a player they're barely using, though.

Sit:
Duke Johnson - As mentioned in the previous paragraph, Duke is doing what he always does and has been very efficient with his touches. However, he's just not getting enough of them to be anything other than a dice roll in fantasy. It would be one thing if they were feeding him a ton of targets, but the Texans have so many options in the pass game that Duke is only averaging just under three targets per game. Until something changes, leave him on your bench.

---

Bengals vs. Jaguars
Over/Under - 43.5

Start:
DJ Chark - A stat worth noting is that the Jaguars have had the league's toughest schedule against the pass the first six weeks. The rest of the season, at least as of right now (obviously these stats will change as more games are played), they have the easiest. Fire up your Chark, baby!

Gardner Minshew - Minshew-Mania came to something of a screeching half last weekend when the Jags met the absolute buzzsaw that has been the Saints defense. Well, he ain't playing the Saints this week.

Tyler Boyd - I mean, someone has to catch passes for the Bengals, right? And they're probably going to be playing from behind, which means lots of passing.

Sit:
Joe Mixon - I'm sure many of you spent high draft picks on Mixon this year, and you're probably on suicide watch, because he has just been absolutely awful. The Bengals just can't get anything going on the ground with any kind of consistency due to their terrible offensive line. The Jags defense isn't what it used to be, but it's just hard to be at all confident at Mixon or Gio right now.

Dede Westbrook - The only wide receiver who has been cucked harder than Westbrook has by DJ Chark is Mike Evans at the hands of Chris Godwin. Chark is the captain now.

---

Cardinals @ Giants
Over/Under - 49.5

Start:
Evan Engram - Did you know that the Cardinals are the worst team in the NFL at surrendering points to tight ends in fantasy? If you've been reading my previous columns, you should. Add to that the fact that Sterling Shepard is out this week and Evan Engram could be looking at a nice game.

Golden Tate - With Shepard out, the slot is Tate's alone to man. Tate was fantastic against New England last week and that will probably continue this week against a poor Cardinals secondary.

Larry Fitzgerald - The Giants have one of the worst secondaries in the league at surrendering points to opposing receivers, and Christian Kirk may be limited if he plays at all. Fitzgerald is in great position to produce this week.

Daniel Jones - Jones hasn't done much the past few weeks for fantasy owners, but he comes into this one in a great match-up against a Cardinals defense that gives up the most fantasy points to quarterbacks in the league this year. He's definitely an intriguing streaming option in week seven.

Sit:
Christian Kirk - While Kirk may suit up this week and the match-up is ideal, he's a true game-time decision and you've probably got better options.

---

Bills vs. Dolphins
Over/Under - 39

Start:
John Brown - Brown has quietly had a pretty solid year in fantasy, currently ranking around 30th at his position. This week, he's at home against a bad Dolphins defense and in a great position to produce.

Devin Singletary - Singletary returns after a several week long absence, and the match-up couldn't be better. You may not know this, but the Dolphins...they suck. Like, a lot. They suck more than a vacuum convention filled with hookers. Singletary is a nice flex option this week.

Frank Gore - See the previous paragraph. Both Bills backs are decent flex options this week.

Josh Allen - Unsurprisingly, the Dolphins also suck at giving up points to quarterbacks. I'm not a huge Allen fan, but if you've got a QB on bye, who is hurt, or you've been streaming the position, Allen is a decent choice.

Sit:
Basically the Dolphins offense. I don't own any Dolphins in fantasy and neither should you, unless it's Preston Williams in dynasty. This team is a dumpster fire.

---

Vikings @ Lions
Over/Under - 44

Start:
Kenny Golladay - Golladay has officially entered must-start territory, with only one bad game so far this year. The Vikings have an above-average pass defense, but they have given up quite a few touchdowns to opposing wideouts. Golladay is a constant red zone threat, making him a nice match-up against Minnesota.

TJ Hockenson - Hock has had a pretty up and down fantasy career after lighting the Cardinals on fire in week one, but he goes up against a Vikings defense that gives up 65 yards a game to opposing tight ends, making him a decent fantasy option this Sunday.

Sit:
Matt Stafford - Stafford has been his typical mediocre self this year, currently right in the middle of the pack at quarterback. However, the Vikings are in the top half of the league at limiting opposing quarterbacks, so he's probably better-served on your bench this weekend. You can probably find a better streaming option.

---

Chargers @ Titans
Over/Under - 38

Start:
Derrick Henry - The Chargers are near last in the league at surrendering points to opposing backs, and have allowed multiple top ten RB performances this season. Look for Henry to get back on track this week.

Austin Ekeler - The Titans defense has allowed over five catches a game to opposing backs, and it's possible that the Chargers continue to struggle while on the road and go down early. If so, Ekeler could be a decent flex option this week, although I wouldn't expect him to play up to his early season standards with Gordon back and taking the bulk of the carries.

Hunter Henry - While the Titans have a very good defense, they have struggled to defend the TE position, and we saw last week just how dominant Henry can be.

Sit:
Phillip Rivers - Rivers has been, well, garbage the past couple of weeks, and now he goes against a Titans defense that is in the top ten at limiting opposing QBs in fantasy. Maybe he has a big game on the road, but there are likely safer options on your waiver wire.

Melvin Gordon - Gordon has really struggled since returning from his holdout. He's averaging 2.5 yards per carry in the two games he's been back, and now he goes up against a Titans defense that's near the top of the league at holding opposing backs in check. I need to see a big Melvin Gordon game before I trust him, especially with the wheels coming off the Chargers' offense.

Corey Davis - The Chargers defense has been very good at denying fantasy points to opposing wideouts, and now the Titans officially make the change to Ryan Tannehill. This is a "need to see more" situation, especially considering that Davis wasn't doing much to begin with.

---

Seahawks vs. Ravens
Over/Under - 51

Start:
Tyler Lockett - Lockett is a high-end WR2 going up against a team in the bottom half against wide receivers. He's an easy weekly start at this point, especially in a match-up projected to be a shootout.

Mark Andrews - Granted, you're probably starting Andrews anyway if you have him because the tight end position is an absolute shit show, but Seattle is near the bottom of the league in points surrendered to the position and Andrews has consistently produced this year.

Mark Ingram - The Seahawks are similarly poor at stopping running backs, and so Ingram should definitely be in your line-ups this weekend.

Sit:
Marquise Brown - Brown is questionable heading into Sunday's game and has been underwhelming since his hot start the first two weeks. He's still a constant threat to pop off for a huge play and help you win your week, but you likely have better options on your fantasy squad who aren't on the injury report.

---

Saints @ Bears
Over/Under - 38.5

Start:
Honestly, I'd only be starting your studs from this game. Kamara and Thomas you basically have to start every week. Not sure I really want anyone else in this one. Surely someone else will have a big week, but I just have no idea who.

Sit:
Teddy Bridgewater - Bridgewater has been very up and down since taking over for an injured Drew Brees, but this is not the week I'd be wanting to start him as he goes up against a top five defense against quarterbacks.

Allen Robinson - Trubisky likely returns this week, and ironically that may be bad for the Bears' number one receiver. He was fantastic last week with backup quarterback Chase Daniel in charge, but it's hard to trust his past production under the biscuit.

David Montgomery - Montgomery has been a huge disappointment thus far this season, with only two double digit fantasy performances, and both of those below fifteen points. I wouldn't trust him against the Saints defense tomorrow.

---

Cowboys vs. Eagles
Over/Under - 48.5

Start:
Dak Prescott - You probably don't need to be told to start Dak, because he's been great in all but one game, but tomorrow night he goes up against one of the worst secondaries in the league. Start him with confidence.

Michael Gallup - The Eagles give up the most fantasy points in the NFL to wideouts. You should be starting Gallup, and Cooper if he's active.

Sit:
Miles Sanders - While Sanders had the best fantasy week of his young career last Sunday, he only had six total touches. That's just not sustainable, even against a poor Cowboys run defense. Sanders' touches are trending in the wrong direction, and I'd avoid him if you have better options until we see that trend shift in the other direction.

---

Patriots @ Jets
Over/Under - 42

Start:
James White - White has seen either nine or ten targets in each of the past three games. If that trend continues, he's a definite start or, at worst, flex play in PPR. I'd avoid him in standard leagues, though.

Sony Michel - This is a game where the Pats are likely to be operating with a positive game script, and so you want Sony Michel in your line-ups.

Julian Edelman - With Josh Gordon officially inactive, Edelman is a must start this week in fantasy, assuming he isn't also out.

Sit:
Sam Darnold - New England allows the fewest fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks in the league. Darnold should be on your bench this weekend unless you have no better options.

Robby Anderson - Anderson was awesome last week, but New England has given up one touchdown all year to wide receivers. This is just not a good match-up.

Need to start 2 RBs (1 PPR) and I have: Marlon Mack, Carlos Hyde, James White
Need to start 3 WRs (1 PPR) and I have: Michael Thomas, Will Fuller, Stefon Diggs, D.J. Chark

what do?

Probably Mack and White at RB. White has good value in PPR and Hyde doesn't catch any passes.

I'd go Thomas, Fuller, and Diggs, but honestly picking between Fuller, Diggs, and Chark is tough, as they all have similarly high upsides but could pretty much lay an egg too. I went Diggs over Chark because he's more proven.

That's exactly what I was thinking, I like Chark but I'd go with Diggs, Fuller, and Thomas because the Jags can just pound the ball all day on a terrible Cincy run defense.

Also, I agree with Mack and White over Hyde based on the PPR format

Devonta Freeman ejected.

And Ito was already concussed. Rams laying the wood. Quinn can't keep this Falcons job much longer.

Edit: meant the Rams... Frisco's defense crushed, but Jimmy left his moxie in a porn star's snatch back in 2017.

David Johnson sitting on the sideline with a torn labia is going to fuck both my teams over this week.

Barkley comes back in after limping off the field and scores a fucking touchdown. Needed that in my dynasty league where I started David Johnson and chose Evan Engram over Darren Waller and Hunter Henry due to the match-up. Rodgers is balling for me today too.

Probably my worst move of the season is dropping Edmonds for shitty ass Malcom Brown when Gurley was out. Awful.
