Farewell, Timofey Mozgov

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Could this guy possibly play any worse? Even looks lost sometimes defensively, hes one of the main contributors in our regression as a team.

Is he really still hurting? Would it help to sit? We have the depth to do it.

Funny, if Andy/Mozgov would get rings with Warriors, ( veteran’s minimum for Varejao’s services and 3-5 mil for Mozgov next year)

He went from being a +3 (per RPM) player last year with the Cavs (top 10 overall for centers, top 20 on offense, top 6 on defense), to a -3 bottom 4 center (73 out of 77 overall, 71st out of 77 on offense, 57th out of 77th on defense) who's soon to be a negative on defense. The Cavs are -9.6 points per 100 possessions with him on court. He has been a negative on court in 34 of the 62 games he's played this year (he was a positive in 30 of the 45 games he played in the regular season last year and in 14 of 20 playoff games).

This team's dominant 33-3 run was based in large part on Moz and Shump BOTH being top 40 type impact players last year as opposed to bottom of the barrel players this year.

the main reason is regress is the team chemistry : leaders have too much egoism. Before Timofey often gave rebound as a present to the Kevin Love. Now Kevin fights for rebound only with Mozgov. p.s Sorry for my english (i am from Russia)

I'm really curious what his problem is. I mean he was such a force of nature last year now he always seems disengaged and scatter brained. He has flashes of his true self but then he fall's off a cliff.
What if he quits basketball after this season.
Most likely reason is the knee. @Chris Parker has reported the knee if anything is hurting more then earlier in the knee

He's been a positive player for several years till now. Injury makes the most sense particularly in a contract year

-14 in 13 minutes. Dug a hole at the beginning of the game, and then gave up a lead to start the second half.

This has been the norm.

We can't afford to keep playing him.

He was very effective against the warriors last year, big enough to body up Bogut but way too quick in transition for him. They had to take out Bogut but Mozgov destroyed anyone else with his size. His lack of outside game hurts his ability to play with either Love or TT effectively unless Love just hangs out by the 3.

Channing Frye is a more effective Mozgov for this team's rotations. Still get the same length on defense and spreads the floor for KLove to work inside on offense. I still think he is good insurance for injuries and/or another big body to throw at centers in the playoffs to limit wear on other guys.

“I’ve got a lot of [stuff] in my head,” Mozgov said. “I’m not going to share it to nobody. You ask me what’s going on in my head, you’re not going to find out. Only Sasha [Kaun] knows. You don’t want to be there, trust me.”
No one understands EMOzgov

At least it possibly means he does care if someone dies.

I totally grasp how confidence is huge when it comes to shooting free throws, hitting a baseball, kicking field goals, but really can't understand how you can lose confidence in simply catching a basketball, dunking when you're 7'1, not tripping over your own feet consistently.

You basically are beyond a sports psychologist and close to being involuntarily committed at that point.

I mean, we all need confidence to talk to a beautiful woman or give a speech to a crowd, but not to tie our own shoes.

This feels like a baseball-style mental meltdown rarely seen in basketball.

I feel like this poor bastard is going to be smashing his head repeatedly against the rubber walls of a Siberian mental hospital in a few years.

He played solo against five? This is a game in the defense of the whole team, not just Moz. His stats 7pts 4 reb 3\4 fg

If it was just yesterday, I wouldn't be saying anything. However, it's been a consistent problem. We are playing significantly better with him off the floor. Line ups with him just aren't productive.

We are nearly 11 points worse per 100 possessions with him on the floor this year.

Whether it's because he's not playing well, or if it's match up problems caused by the rest of the league going smaller, we need to be using him in a different role.
