If Moz returns to how he played last postseason I really think the Cavs have a good shot at winning it all. People don't realize this, but last postseason, opponents shot 17% worse than normal when Moz was guarding them. That was historically great.
For all of the team's problems, one of the biggest ones is solved by Moz returning to his level last postseason, i.e., defense. With Moz anchoring, Kyrie's defensive woes are minimized, Shump/JR can be more aggressive when guarding the ball handler and we'll get more transition opportunities. I would actually argue that Moz improving to last postseason on defense would result in our offense becoming historically great, simply because our opponents will start missing shots at the rim resulting in transition opportunities.
One of the things that having agood Moz allowed was aggressiveness on closing out on 3 pt shooters. It was a big reason they were able to shut Atlanta down and compete with Golden State. Totally agree here. Tristan is good, but it is much better having a 1-2 punch than a 2 punch.
