Father, Forgive me, for I have sinned.

On this evening as we clinch the one seed it is appropriate for me to lift this thread back to life and restore it to its original purpose, not of criticizing pierogis, but of confessing our very real sins over the years.

Lord forgive me for I have doubted Koby Altman. I doubted him as he constructed the most balanced lineup since the Pistons of the early oughts, a lineup capable of easily exceeding 60 wins and competing for a championship without a top five player in the league…something I thought was impossible. I doubted him as he traded what I thought was our future for another short guard to pair with Darius Garland. I doubted him as he amassed four all-star quality players and great character guys in their mid 20s along with a stacked bench that gave us the resources to acquire the great DeAndre Hunter in one of the most spectacularly right-on deadline trades ever.

Forgive me Koby for I have sinned. On to the playoffs!

Tell me when the Cavs reach the CF. A lost in the first round would be a disaster. A loss in the 2nd A near one.

now is not the night for expressing anxiety about a possible parade of horribles in the future. Now is the night for humbly asking forgiveness for any doubts expressed about the great Koby Altman, who has constructed a Cavs team that has already reached heights I never thought possible in the dark days after Lebrons second departure a mere six seasons ago. Hail Koby, and hail all he has brought us - the Core Four, DeAndre Hunter (destined to be the fifth starter), the bench, and Kenny Atkinson!

Never doubted. Nothing to atone for.
In this camp as well, but this season's results remain beyond the prophecies greatest promises, for even within my mortal soul could not have seen three double digit win streaks within our Promised Destination, especially to open the WINE & GOLD SEASon like you so graciously allowed us to do!

Now as far as things to atone for, please do not hold any of my posts from the 22~24 Cavs Game Day Threads towards the decision making or lack thereof from HC JBB, anything stated regarding DW4, or the frugality of the Guardos Ownership against me at Your Pearly Gates of Paradise upon my Day of Judgement & I will continue to support these blessed Cleveland Cavaliers and Franchise Owner Dan 'The Donfather' Gilbert & GM Koby 'Nailed The Rebuild' Altman for all everlasting glorious heavenly eternity!

NEVER. Donovan cost me my sweet Swedish unicorn prince.

Just playing. Donovan has been the team leader so far I didn't think he was coming out of Utah. He's been 'that guy's and that's all you can ask. I will spare the 'glad to be proven wrong' (not apologizing for shit you heathens) when he raises that trophy over his head and screams 'Cleveland this is also for you!!!'

Hollinger had a great article recently about how Phoenix / Mat Ishbia destroyed their entire fucking competitive future by not being a patient with a highly competitive 55-60 win team and building gradually toward a championship, including these thoughts:

"Patience costs nothing. It requires no advanced degree, special relationships or analytics gurus. Yet I’d argue it’s more important to running an NBA franchise than salary-cap management, scouting or anything else. The simple ability to wait things out, rather than jump in recklessly and sacrifice future success for fleeting short-term gains, is a massive difference-maker....

Yes, the Cavs jumped at the chance to get Donovan Mitchell, but their success this year owes just as much to the moves they didn’t make — not trading Jarrett Allen or Darius Garland after the last two seasons ended in playoff failure — and fortifying the bench with home-grown 20-somethings such as Dean Wade, Sam Merrill and Ty Jerome.

Meanwhile, the Suns serve as a cautionary tale for the rest of the league. Only Devin Booker remains from 2022: Chris Paul is a Spur, Cam Johnson is a Net, Mikal Bridges is a Knick, and Deandre Ayton is a Blazer."

Koby I salute your far-sightedness, your patience, even if your patience with JBB did try us, and your faith in the fundamental correctness of your vision which is turning out to be totally justified. I'm sorry for ever having doubted you.

P.S. Hollinger's conclusion is that Phoenix has to blow it up and trade everybody halfway decent on their team to get their draft picks back.

I might be able to stomach a loss to OKC
Translation:

I can deal with a loss in the NBA FINALS cause I'm a beta that believes LeBron is the GOAT and I'm conditioned to this mentality...

Break the chain !!!

At least I’m not conditioned to pre-2011 Lebron and losing to the Celtics in the ECF!

Finland should return to the fold.

Along with Norway.

There are three crowns for a reason!

A United Kingdoms of Sweden, Norway and Finland would be a Great Power. Oil, industry and Sisu.

I'd rather see a revived Hanseatic League.
