Actually in hindsight, most of my dislike for Casey Blake had little to do with the player himself, but almost entirely how Eric Wedge would use him.Casey Blake was one of those players that everyone thought was a AAAA player at the time he was on the Indians, then he put a couple of good seasons together in a row, and was clearly a quality MLB player. Respect for him always seemed to trail his production. I include myself in the group that didn't grant him proper respect until after he was traded for Santana. Funny enough, for my experience, feels like almost like the opposite of what this thread represents
Blake was one of Wedge’s favorite players so it seemed like he always had a crazy long leash, and he would bat something like sixth in the lineup, which usually wasn’t warranted.
