Has anyone heard a time for the press conference or if they are even having one today?

The Cavs official site just has links to all the newspaper articles -- they don't even have a write up about him being hired!

BTW - I sold my Darko jock!

give em some time. Ferry hasn't even been officially named yet.

good news about the Darko Jock, how much did you get for it?

anyways it said that the official announcement is suppose to be today or something so usually that'll lead to the press conference.. but who knows

I got $75 and a case of Little Kings for it! :drink:

Turns out CheifWahoo56 really does know Uncle Simi!!! He had pictures with him and Boban and everything. CW56 is right off the boat from Serbia and speaks broken English. :chuckles: He was dressed in a PUMA sweat suit and chain smoked the entire time we hung out. The dude has a tanning bed in his place and kept asking me if I wanted to "get brown". :gay:

Here are some notes from the press conference. This is from another forum
First, and possibly most importantaly, Gilbert admitted he is possibly the shortest person acquainted with basketball in the world.

Second, I was a little worried when Gilbert brought up how in his old business there were unexperienced people who had success...not doubting Ferry or Brown but many business matters in outside of the basketball world doesn't translate into success in the basketball world.

Third, this reminds me alot of what Savage and company are doing with the Browns. Character, guys who have a passion for playing, etc.

Fourth, bringing back Z. Ferry put all the cards onto Z's lap. It's up to Z if he wants to stay for a deserving price.

Fifth, they focused a lot on LeBron. With new management you have to assure LeBron that he is what you're building around and that you are committed to giving him players to compliment his game as well as everyone elses.

Nothing really on the draft that would cause any stir.

Glad no Larry Brown

And the importance of Defense to these two guys ( Brown and Ferry ) I'm probably reading a little too far into it but Redd isn't nearly as polished a defensive player as Johnson/Allen.

Also glad to hear that Ferry hasn't just been ignoring the offseason...He has been scouting the same players with SA that will be in the draft when he is with Cleveland...I wouldn't doubt that he makes a move on draft day.

Looks ok...but sure looked like he was nervous

It seems like Warkentien will be the man alongside Ferry, which is a solid choice. Need to add a little experience.

I saw some clips of it on the news. He seems to be preaching the same things that Brown and Gilbert have. Bringing in character guys with good work ethic and love for the game.

I like what Ferry had to say in the press conference. He has a plan and knows exactly what kind of players he is looking for. Ferry has been around great basketball minds who know what it takes to win his whole life from HS to college to both NBA stops. I really think he has what it takes to be a quality GM.

Glad to hear the Larry Brown ship has sailed. I guess there still could be a remote chance of him in some consultant type of role but he won't be a strong voice if he did end up here now.

The odds of Z returning do look good. Both Ferry and M. Brown say they want him back. Mike Brown was on the channel 5 Sunday sports show in Cleveland last night and said once again he likes Z and wants him here. Brown didn't really say much else in the interview(it was obviously taped earlier in the day since there was no mention of Ferry).

I also think Warkentein will stay since Ferry seems to respect him and his abilities.

Ferry was asked whether or not he would have traded for himself knowing what he knows now, he replied, "No comment!".

I do like this hiring, especially if it keeps Larry Brown out of here. He wasn't a good fit, Ferry is a bright, young exec, the FO equivalent of Mike Brown. Now these two have their work cut out for them.

What reporter asked that Captain Obvious question and did they actually think they were being clever? :lame: :jerkoff:
