Ferry's possibilities are presenting themselves

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
During Shannon's game last night, they interviewed a scout there from Portland. He had good things to say about Shannon.....hmmmmmmm.

Well, considering we already have LBJ (Akron), Ira Newble (Detroit, but played at Miami, OH), and Eric Snow (Canton), and Earl Boykins (Cleveland) has been available for months, who does that leave?

Let's take a look:

Keith McLeod (Canton) PG FA
Michael Redd (Columbus) SG Bucks
James Posey (Cleveland) SF Celtics
Kevin Martin (Zanesville) SG Kings
Daquean Cook (Dayton) SG Heat
Ruben Patterson (Cleveland) SF FA
Mike Conley Jr (Indianapolis, but played at OSU) PG Grizzlies
Gerg Oden (Indianapolis, but played at OSU) C TrailBlazers
Charles Oakley (Cleveland) PF FA

Of this group, realistically, who would we actually have a chance at obtaining? Mcleod, Patterson, and Boykins have been available for months.

McLeod is a backup PG, at best.

Patterson is a registered sex offender, and doesn't fit the character mold the Cavs are trying to build.

Oakley and Boykins have stood on the fact they want outrageous money.

Conley, Cook, Martin, and Oden are all part of the core futures of their current teams.

That leaves, realistically, Posey and Redd. Posey is a productive member of the Celts, and one of their better rotation players. Plus, the Celtics will not want to help out one of their top foes in the East.

So, that leaves Redd, who is being shopped. And the Bucks have bad contracts to give up in Gadzuric and Simmons. They are going no where (again) this season, and Redd has proven that he cannot lead the team on his own. He is much better as a second banana with LBJ than he is trying to be the number 1.

And, honestly, who on this board wouldn't want to stick it to TJ if the Bucks traded Redd (and even ended up with Larry), then the Cavs made a run to the Title? ;)

W&G may just mean that former Cav could be coming back.

Bob Sura, maybe?

But, I'm not going to go out and say this is going to be the most exciting all sater break in NBA history, at least not as far as anything Danny Ferry related goes.

I'll just say, I think Ferry's patience will be paying off soon...and it could involve some local talent finding a way back home as well...

The second sentence makes me think it has to be Redd.

The first sentence makes me think it cant be Redd. Getting Redd would definately be the most exciting All-Star break for Ferry.

Former Cuyahoga Community College Challenger Ben Wallace? :headbang:

As you can see he attended Tri-C pre-steroids....he weighed 157 pounds when he played there.

I don't know which is better:

That Ben Wallace actually played at Cuyahoga Community College or that Orlando tried to make him a shooting guard.

Wine and Gold, this post has made my head spin thinking of the possiblities...

oooh, now that you bring up the colleges too... that's a whole other group

Ben Wallace back in the day...being schooled by Prince...

I can just envision W&G sitting behind his computer somewhere in the Q laughing his ass off while reading this thread. Must be fun to have info that thousands of fans are dying to know about.

OK....figured it out. This cat is a freaking baller in the NFL and he never even played football at Kent State, just basketball. Wake up Ferry! get it done!!!

Ok, time to go strangle myself because I can't handle the anticipation and another let down if nothing happens.

Pssst, hey W&G

The good fans of the Cavs will want Ferry's blood if nothing happens between now and the All Star break... and I plan to lead the charge.

Write that on a sticky note and put it on a machette, and sit that bad baby right next to his phone please...

thank you

The only championship type upgrade out of that list of guys is Michael Redd. I am talking about a guy that can give us a legit shot at the trophy THIS year. When you say that it won't be the most exciting all-star break, I have to then dismiss that it would be Michael Redd. This leaves me much less enthused.
