His phone line has really heated up lately, and alot of possibilities are presenting themselves, minor and major.

I'm surprised at what is being talked about in regards to Hughes ....a strong possibility exists that he could be moved by the end of the all star break, at least some takers have been unearthed, and some of the possiblities don;t seem as hard to swallow as you might think.

But. we are going to have a hand in some things in the not too distant future I predict.

But, I'm not going to go out and say this is going to be the most exciting all sater break in NBA history, at least not as far as anything Danny Ferry related goes.

I'll just say, I think Ferry's patience will be paying off soon...and it could involve some local talent finding a way back home as well...

Local talent?

Looks like Earl Boykins is coming then, lol.. :chuckles:

I should call his agent and see what kind of activity he is getting.

Ruben Patterson is from these parts isn't he? :uhh:

Didn't we allready sign Eric Snow a couple of years ago?

JR Bremer? Damon Stringer? :D

Michael Reghi??? :chuckles:

Seriously, who else could that mean but Michael Redd? I know he is being shopped, but I also know the pricetag on him has to be pretty high. Would the Bucks really want Gooden? Maybe they want Sasha... Id have a hard time believing we'd be able to dump Larry on them and get Redd back from them all in the same trade. Im assuming they would want some expirings + picks + to dump some bad contracts... Without being able to look anything up, doesnt Ruben Patterson fill the bill of even more local "talent" with a bad contract? Or how about Bobby Simmons... I think he has a pretty bad contract as well. Anyway, just thinking outloud here. Thanks for the info W&G, and keep it coming if you can.

Redd, Patterson, and Posey are the only productive guys left in the league from here that I think we'd have any interest in acquiring.

*edit* maybe Kevin Martin too, but no way the Kings are dealing him.

Ruben Patterson is an FA. The Clippers waived him a while back. If we want him, all we need is a roster spot and some $$. Sames goes for Earl.

Dequan Cook is from Dayton.

Well, considering we already have LBJ (Akron), Ira Newble (Detroit, but played at Miami, OH), and Eric Snow (Canton), and Earl Boykins (Cleveland) has been available for months, who does that leave?

Let's take a look:

Keith McLeod (Canton) PG FA
Michael Redd (Columbus) SG Bucks
James Posey (Cleveland) SF Celtics
Kevin Martin (Zanesville) SG Kings
Daquean Cook (Dayton) SG Heat
Ruben Patterson (Cleveland) SF FA
Mike Conley Jr (Indianapolis, but played at OSU) PG Grizzlies
Gerg Oden (Indianapolis, but played at OSU) C TrailBlazers
Charles Oakley (Cleveland) PF FA

I don't buy anything this W&G guy has to say....this completely contradicts heath's post about us getting TMac and Dwight Howard for Larry, Eric, Hot Donny, Ira and Whammer.
