Didn’t we beat up on a dude that absolutely loved Josh Allen? Think he may have gotten banned. Apology goes out to that guy. That’s our bad.

Wasn't @sportscoach one of the Josh Allen fans? There was also a Wyoming fan that liked him obviously.

Thing is...you don't have to be Miss Cleo to conclude that Josh Allen would have been a catastrophic bust had he been drafted here. He was far too unpolished and had far too many things to work on to overcome the organizational chaos here. Hell, he only took the leap this season, his 3rd year, with an ideal, stable setup for him in Buffalo. No chance he would have been given a fair shake here.

It sounds lame, but in retrospect I truly believe Baker Mayfield was the only choice for us with the state of the organization at the time. He had the mental fortitude and the (borderline brash) confidence to overcome this shit show. I doubt that's why Dorsey drafted him, but in hindsight that's why he's been able to survive here IMO.

100% chance Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson would have been wasted here. And Sam Darnold and Josh Rosen would have likely had the same lack of success here that they have seen on their respective trash organizations. Baker was the only answer even if I didn't realize it at the time.

That Wyoming guy is definitely who I was thinking of.

Without a doubt none of these other guys could have survived here. MAYBE Lamar with his rushing ability. We would not have been able to develop Josh Allen for sure.

My top 2 were Baker and Rosen, slightly preferring Rosen because I didn't think they'd take Baker.

I liked Lamar but didn't think he'd take the league by storm and that he was more of a project.

I thought Darnold was Cutler 2.0.

Im actually shocked I didn't have that in here.

I was big on Allen to be honest and I supported him! but we did have a Wyoming fan who was adamant about him as well.

I am not going to disagree since I thought he needed time to develop, but he actually has a legit team around him unlike he did in college. I mean when he was out, his team lost to one of the worst team in NCAA football. He was the Wyoming team his Senior year.

Mayfield I thought had one of the better floors of the draft, but I didn't think his ceiling was as high as an Allen.

When did the whole Josh Allen using the n word stuff come out?

I feel like that was a big reason, deservedly so obviously, there was a lot of animosity about him leading up to the draft.

Allen's biggest opponent was his accuracy numbers at the end of the day. Normally bad accuracy in college doesn't translate well to the pros. Me and the Wyoming fan said it was misleading since his receivers were horrible and honestly they were. His jump in accuracy this season is because he actually has a WR core lol

I voted for Darnold since I thought he was more of a Dorsey type of QB pick.
