Im looking to get some housing in Cleveland, a buddy of mine is going to look at a house on 40th street but im not trying to live there, 30th all the way down to like 100s is a terrible neighborhood.

White people are not welcomed around that area, thats for sure...

are there any decent places in the Cleveland area that isnt more than like a 10-15 min drive from downtown???

Im trying to get through college without dieing, but im not trying to spend a fortune on housing either.

Im just not comfortable at all being in that area..

actually re-reading your post. Is he buying a house, and you would move in? If so, Lakewood might be a little much...

Yeah, the guy is an investor. He buys houses, fixes them up and then sells them again.

He did the same thing when his sis was in college, basically buys the house and we pay him rent so he really doesnt pay a whole lot and then turns around and sells it.

But theres no way Im going on 40th, damn that.

No, no no. Mac is much too cool for Lakewood and it "supposed" community full of gays.

Move to Cleveland Heights, it's pretty chill, and about 15 minute drive to downtown. Hell, my buddy bikes down to CSU every day... about a 25 minutes...

Around Coventry, houses (3br) run around 1050/mo, apartments (2br) around 600/mo, which is cheap, considering how much stuff is around it: bars, independently owned restaurants and shops, etc.

oo i hear ya. east 30th to about east 105th is like the ghetto and a half. thats half of cleveland right there. alltho i do find this part funny: the cleveland clinic, the best heart resarch center and hospital on earth, is in the middle of one of the countries worst ghettos.

They are really putting an effort towards that area looking better though.

That little developement they have by there cost like $200 gs to get a house or townhouse or whatever it is.

Hopefully that gets some of the crap out of there, but I doubt it. Crime and corruption is tough to get rid of, esp in a poor city like Cleveland.
