Game 1 | Cavaliers vs Celtics | October 27, 2009 | 7:30 PM EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
On the drive home still and haven't really come to grips with the game yet. Not losing any sleep over it though (other than the fact that we're still driving) since it is only one game and the starting lineup looks so different versus last year. Main takeaways...

1) We need Delonte
2) Z needs some time to get used to coming off the bench
3) Boobie is still essentially worthless as a 2nd unit PG
4) I hate Boston and their fans

Overall, still glad we made the drive to come up though. The guy I drug along with me had a blast (first NBA game) and was very impressed with the level of energy in the arena. Hopefully the Q can keep it up.

Oh well, off to tomorrow and here comes the VA state line....just 2 more hours of driving or so.

This game showed what was being said by Brown..they're not in sync yet..and it will take a few games..I always say give it about 15-20 games and they should start clicking..

It's early but 2 things that still could be issues for awhile.
Let alone missing Delonte.

1. Who replaced John K. on the Cavaliers bench? More important, whos working the offense? Besides LBJ?

2. Remember that stretch 4? Andy and Shaq, together? I hope it works.

...

And cescott...I will trust you. If you log-in from that work computer between 10am and 11am (I understand you might need to get some work done first :chuckles:) then I will donate $5. If you don't make it back...it's on you.

God, I love meaningless bets.

...and here I am. Back at the house this morning at 7:30. Quick power nap and shower and at work in time for a 9:00 conference call that just finished.

1. Pretty sure Chris Jent replaced him on the bench. He used to sit behind it. Don't know whose running the offense though.

2. It was very apparent to me that Shaq & Varejao are a terrible match in the front court. Neither can play outside of the paint consistently. Rasheed Wallace would have been the perfect fit, but nothing we can do about that now. Would love to see Hickson develop into a main rotation guy who eats up minutes at the 4.

I'm not so sure. I feel like Varejao did a very good job off of Shaq last night considering the amount of time they've had to feel each other out. There were many times where Varejao was open for a backdoor layup when his man doubled Shaq, and I believe that its only a matter of time before they notice that on film and implement that pass. Varejao was also hitting his jumper tonight so I'm not sure I can agree with your statement at all. If Andy hits the jumper as well as he did tonight consistently, he'll be a great starting PF next to Shaq. Now, this is unlikely, but I'm just saying so to prove a point...I don't think I saw a terrible frontcourt combination at all last night.

Agreed (Chrisrich91), looks like Andy might have that 13-16 ft. shot down.

Hopefully as the season progress' Andy keeps hittin that.
