It's amazing, but we just beat the Piston's Larry Brown Style. If we actually take this series, Flip Saunders is going to take a lot of heat. This is how the Pistons used to play before they discovered they could score. They'd miss a ton of jumpers, and eek out 70pt games based on transition points generated by their offense. Well. They reverted and we beat them at their old game. Flip's vaunted offense left the building.
Well guys, this was it. This was the win the Cav's needed to make their season beyond just meeting expectation, but a smashing success. Two more wins and we can start talking about the Tower City Miracle.
fwiw, I find it ironic that the game was decided by a charging call on Rip Hamiltion that should have been a block. At least the refs were consistent. Some fans picked on Marshall for not being a good finisher at the hoop, but when he was called for 2 charges those were blocks as well. The rules say that once the offensive player picks up the ball, the defensive player has to be set. They got set, but it was well after the move started. Overall I thought we got jobbed by the refs, especially considering we were at home, but at least they called it the same when we needed it. We would have won this game a lot easier if the refs would have allowed us to attack the rim.
Great win.
Go Cavs!
Got to make it happen!!!
