Game #42 Cavs @ Bulls (Jan. 22, 8 ET)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
They're playing for their careers at this point. They don't expect big bucks. I'd like to see more effort from all of them.

The problem as I see it is Jamison. He's the "leader" on the team, so they keep feeding him on offense. I really hope we can trade him this season. That would force some of these young guys to step up their game as the season winds down. We might be able to keep a few of these guys as good pieces of the future, so if they were forced to step up their games in the absense of Jamison, I would see that as a good thing for the remainder of the season from a development perspective.

The problem isn't Jamison. The problem is Jamison is this teams best player on offense...by a wide, wide margin. That's not his fault. He was never good enough to lead a team in any way, shape, or form. I too hope we can trade him and I'm willing to take nothing but a salary dump at this point.

My point is that we don't need older veterans who can't play defense at this point of their careers. They keep feeding him, and he keeps taking awful shots. I'd rather see Eyenga develop his mid-range game, or Samuals develop his post game, or JJ take an opportunity to lead the team (which might be scary, but you never know). But this won't happen as long as we have Jamison on the team. In other words, I want to see the young guys be forced to step up. We're headed toward a high draft pick anyway - it would be a great opportunity for these guys.

Without Jamison on this team, this team will get blown out by 30 point margin every single game.

That is yet to be seen. Besides, we're not going to win a lot more this season. Just the way it is. Let's take the opportunity to develop our youth. The opportunity won't exist as much next season. If we can get younger or more flexible financial assets for Jamison this year, I'm all for it.

I was on record as saying we didn't need Jamison last year anyway. The team was gelling with Shaq and JJ starting, then Z and Andy off the bench. Hindsight is 20/20 I know, but I saw no reason for Jamison to be on the team, especially considerding his poor defensive record. Right now, I think he's sucking the development from the squad. Everyone calls him a great leader - sorry, I don't see it.

Jamison is our best offensive player, but he is the worst defender on our team by a LOT. This is saying something, as we have Mo, Sessions, and JJ, who are all terrible defenders as well. Jamison far outstrips all of them in his defensive suckage.

I'm sure you meant best offensive player, but I agree with the rest of your post.

without jamison carlos boozer might have to take a shot outside 5 feet

what is the point of a salary dump? We have the 2nd lowest payroll in the league. Dump any salary and we lose the TPE. We should be accumulating picks even if it means taking on salary, not dumping salary.
