Game 57|Cavaliers @ Orlando|February 21, 2010|1:00 EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Also, it's feeling a little better watching Denver annihilate Boston right now too.

The Nuggets can play some terrific basketball when all their players are healthy. Makes you wonder about who'll crawl out of the Western Conference in the playoffs.

I've been a Mike Brown supporter for the most part, but I seriously would not mind seeing him gone...like right now. Mo Williams is not ready to be playing. If he doesn't score he is worthless. How do you not play Delonte down the stretch?

I have to agree. While delonte shots were not falling he was giving 100%, driving to the hoop, rebounding and DEFENDING. I cannot believe he was not in at the end of the game. 22 min a night for d west is just not enough

Despite the loss, I came away feeling very good about this game. I couldn't figure out why, but there was something about that game that just felt different. About 5 minutes ago, I figured out why.

The fear is GONE! Even when the Cavs won the first two meetings, I was still nervous about the Magic because I still thought we didn't match up very well with them. If we had to go into a 7-game series with the original team, I don't think we could have pulled it off. Not anymore.

Antawn Jamison was downright schooling Rashard Lewis today. He took him to the post, he knocked down jumpers over him, he even had a pick and pop three. And after watching Jamison in the post, I don't see any reason why he can't play at this level through the end of his contract. He's got an old man's game (that's a good thing), and it limits the punishing he takes.

Once Z gets back, and we don't have to see Andy or JJ (Mikey B, what were you thinking?) guarding Dwight, the Cavs are going to be in great shape. I can't wait until May.

I think todays game solidifies Jamison's spot in the starting lineup. Mike Brown does not know how to coach a team. I honestly feel like the only thing he's in charge of is rotations and he really doesn't know how to work that. Jawad and West were doing just fine, but he chose to destroy that momentum to fit a predetermined minutes chart.

I hate putting the blame on one person, because Basketball is a team game. BUT, the guy controlling who's in the game has to know what he's fucking doing.

magic went unconscious from the field in the last minutes, not much you can do about that but contest the shots, which we did...kudos to Orlando

We didn't contest the 3... we doubled howard... why? I couldn't tell you!

3 game losing streak and now Mike Brown doesnt know how to coach? It was a love fest with him on a 13 game winning streak. This site is hilarious at times for real.:chuckles:

Thoughts about the game:

Jamison had a great game offensively. He is a load to guard one on one due to his range of offensive skills. He can beat you both inside and outside. He in my opinion is the x-factor on the cavs.

Shaq was terrific offensively as usual. Teams still don't have an answer for him.

Lebron: played well for the most part. Carried the team offensively in the first half when nothing seemed to be going right. I think his play on the offensive end in the final five minutes help sealed the faith of the cavs. He gets a pass since his level of play this season has been legendary. Lebron will win you more games than he'll lose, so you have to live with that. Happens to the best of them.

The guard play was disappointing, mo's shot is off at the moment. I'm confident he'll get it together since there is no pressure on him this time to be the second best player on the team.

Pick and roll defense needs work. They have to the personnel to correct this so i'm sure they will do fine.

One area that needs urgent attention is late game execution. I think with effort, attention to detail and commitment they can be one of the most dangerous in the league in late game situations.

All in all it was a well played game by both teams in a playoff atmosphere. Orlando made the big plays, whereas cavs made the big plays in cleveland. You have to deal with these types of losses and move on. In the end the cavs will be fine.

Seriously, those that are clamoring for the firing of Mike Brown need to relax. Think about the last three games for a minute:

-2 point loss in Overtime to the 2nd best team in the West on an amazing jumper from one of the best mid-range shooters in the game.

-Loss on the road to one of the best home teams in the league while trying to integrate a player that will be playing a major role from here on out.

-Loss on the road to the 2nd best team in the East while still trying to integrate said player.

Throw in Mo Williams coming back from injury, and no backup center (I love Andy, but he's not a center) and this is understandable.

Three losses in a row, but guess what? The Cavs are still FIVE GAMES AHEAD of Orlando for first in the East.

Camakazee got it right. Also agree that a rusty, less-than-100% Mo should probably be sitting: his defense on Jameer was dreadful today, and he's not coming close to making up for it on the other end of the floor. He's a liability right now.

But everything is going to be fine long-term. Jamison looks great, the officials aren't going to be this rotten every night, and LeBron won't be this passive in the fourth come April. Relax.

As a Laker fan I particularly enjoyed the hard foul that Shaq gave in the 4th, even if it was his 5th. Nice way to send a message to both the officials and the Magic.

Bright side: AJ is going to be huge if he can give us half of what he did in the second half (I think it was more of how MB played him than him playing better in the second half). Howard again was a no show in the second half thanks to Shaq's D! Shaq hitting people like it's football. LeBron driving to the basket. AP with good D til until he got tired.

Dark side: AV one on one with Howard. Doubling Howard when he had not scored or touched the ball in ages! Mo/Boobie/Ap/JJ/AV/WEST having no O to speak of. MB figuring out how to use AJ in the second half when he could have done it in the first half. JJ starting. No Moon. Howard bull rushing/elbowing/pushing doesn't get called!!! LBJ chucking the 3. No Jiggles to even put a big body on Howard. ESPN with bias towards the CAVS b/c Howard didn't do ish against Shaq worth mentioning!

Excellent points.

One thing that should be considered greatly is how shitty the Cavs played overall today and yet still almost won the game. Imagine how they'll be when everyone is consistently playing at least decent.

Just like in the beginning of the season this group needs to come together again. They have plenty of games in doing that and when they found the groove, they will beat any opponent in a 7 game series.
