Game 57|Cavaliers @ Orlando|February 21, 2010|1:00 EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Not having Z hurts this matchup in particular, and we saw it in this game. Shaq played howard well for the time he was out there, but he cannot play him minute for minute. Having AV on Dwight just isn't the solution, AV isn't big enough or strong enough to bother Howard consistently, Z is a much better option, I hope he's back.

What we're seeing a little bit is that the Cavs almost have too many options. Who is going to play D on Carter? Moon? AP? Jawad? Delonte? LBJ? All are capable, AP shut down Vince pretty damn well in the fisrt half. Jawad got lost in the 4th on him, and Vince got going a bit. How about the PG spot? We had a 13 game winning streak with essentially just Boobie and LBJ as options, but now Mo is back, though not yet 100%, Delonte is playing well, and Boobie showed that he should earn his time. We all saw LBJ average 11 assists a game while as a primary handler.

The PF spot is getting crowded, AV and JJ have earned minutes and Jamison is used to starting for the Wizards. Oh, and Leon Powe is coming back next game.

This all needs to be sorted out, and I believe it will in good time. But I think there is too much depth and not enough minutes for everyone out there, you can't have Shaq, Z, Jamison, AV, Powe, JJ, Moon, Jawad, Lebron, AP, Delonte, Gibson, and Mo all on an active roster let alone get sufficient playing time. Its a nice problem to have, but the fact that the Cavs may run 13 players deep when playoff depth is typically 8 or 9 is going to cause some players to simply have to sit.

And no one will care about this game win or lose once we face these guys in the playoffs, so relax a bit and lets get this sorted out.

how about espn's headline:

Howard outduels Shaq as Magic edge Cavs

that has to be a joke right? shaq was 9-10 from the field (in 31 minutes) while being in foul trouble for much of the second half, howard was 7-15 while getting every call he wanted (the worst was when the refs instead of calling a charge giving tawn his 5. foul).....

i hate those espn guys

Mo williams was no where to be found, LBJ with his usual bad shot selection towards the end of games. Lets hope this 3 game losing streak wakes this team up. These recent games remind me of the beginning of the year where we looked lost.

14 turnovers and 9 missed free throws. its tough to beat any of the top teams when you do that, especially on the road. all in all, the cavs played poorly defensively, poorly offensively and still had a shot. im worried though that the trend of missed free throws and turnovers will be the undoing of this team in the playoffs.

We lost. They could say whatever the fuck they want. Doesn't mean anything except that the next time they meet, Shaq will be pirty angry. Can you say Super Hulk? :chuckles:

Do you guys think Lebron realizes he is taking bad shots near the end of games or do you think he truly thinks he is doing the best for the team?

Once Jamison fouled out, who else would you rather have had taking the shots?

To paraphrase a quote from the great Clyde Drexler: "I'd rather take the last shot on my team and miss than have someone else take it.

I'm guessing that's Lebron's mentality during crunch time when he hoists up those ridiculous shots.

Z gave us nothing today...Again...

The thing is-- if LeBron is not taking those shots, who is ?

Parker would probably push the ball away and Mo is not there yet... Boobie is the only other guy on this team with balls to take and make a big shot...

But that's besides the point.. LBJ just needs to takeoff from the FT line...

Why is Delonte playing like a piece of shit?

Alls he does is dribble the ball for 2 hours and then get the ball stripped on a lay up or take a terrible shot.

- Shaquille O'Neal said after the game that he is "Microsoft" and Dwight Howard is "Apple." He said he's not going to give any hints to the young center until he retires because he's still competition.

Throughout the night, the Cavaliers double teamed Howard, just weeks after O'Neal called out Howard for needing help on the defensive end. When asked after the game about the double teams sent at Howard, he played dumb. "I didn't get any help," Shaq said with a puzzled look. When pressed, he admitted that there may have been some help but only when he was in foul trouble.

He did, however, feed Howard a compliment after the game. "Dwight is one of the only true big men left. I am sure (the physicality) doesn't bother him. I sure don't mind it. You have two great strong guys, old bull, young bull going at it, it's a good game to watch. I think he has a lot more jumping ability than I had. Dwight is going to be Dwight. I am sure he wants to focus on being Dwight. When I was younger I tried to focus on being Shaq. I wish him well," he told reporters.
