Game 63 | Cavaliers vs. Pistons | March 5, 2010 | 7:00 PM (EST)

LeBron said after the game that right ankle he tweaked was sore but he "hoped" to play tomorrow in Milwaukee

Was talking to Mo Williams RT @CavsWITNESS What was that all about in LeBron's interview when he got mad, said "get out" to guy?

Guess Clinton heard correctly. Wonder what the deal was in the locker room.

And the question is answered: Mo was attempting to steal LeBron's ice bucket to dump on Jamario Moon in the shower. He found someone else's and Moon was howling cold.

In other news:

I loved that the Cavs posted up Hickson a few times. Except for the part about when they did it, how he rushed, and what happened on those possessions. But it was some lolly-gagging on defense that got him ousted from the game, which meant that AV played 39 minutes tonight. Hickson needs to bounce back tomorrow and put some effort into guarding Bogut.

Mo. Is he still recovering? He moved from terrible to inconsistent over the course of the game.

Anyone else concerned about Powe? Even in limited minutes he looked feeble.

No idea about the Moon / Jawad minutes situation. Just when it started to stabilize in Moon's favor, we're on the merry-go-round again.

Varejao and West were just great out there tonight. Again.

Only 11 turnovers (not bad for the Cavs). With better FT shooting and fewer 3-point attempts, they could have made it easier on themselves.

Hope they take Milwaukee seriously from the opening tip.

Do I get major rep points...

According to Windhorst:

Pistons say Stuckey is alert, talking and stable and will stay at Cleveland Clinic overnight for observation.

Sorry, I don't follow.

I'll try to explain what I meant. You said that Mo had a block today, and that isn't a common thing for him. So I joked (or, as it seems , tried to...) that the block that you said that happened today, must had happened in the training. I didn't see the block and didn't believe he had blocked a shot when you said it (it's a rare thing to see Mo Williams block someone on the court). I don't know if you get it but ok... It's late here and my thinking process isn't very clear.. Sorry for the poor english.

Really? I thought it was a nice idea, but its not something they should have done in that situation. They had just gotten the lead down to 11, so they isolate the worst (one on one) offensive player on the floor? Even Varejao would have been a better option. At least he's shown some offensive ability in the post this season.

I realize its nitpicking since the Cavs won, but still.

(And for the record, I am definitely on the "JJ is going to be great" bandwagon.... but he's just not to the point where they should be throwing it to him in the post and telling him to go to word unless he has a serious height advantage).

I agree. After watching Mo's effort on defense at the start of the first half today, I can understand why anyone would believe that the only block he could get would have happened during practice or warmup drills....

He did have a block on Stuckey....take it for what it's worth...:chuckles:

I hope that he's still recovering because I think he's looking bad right now.

Didn't like Powe at all but that must be normal from someone who came from a long injury. Next year he'll be 100% right?

I don't get it either. Last game against New Jersey I thought Moon looked great.

I agree with you. I think my followup sentence meant to say the same things. I liked the basic idea, just not the timing, the execution, or result... :chuckles:

I do wish they would give him the ball in the post in situations where 1) they aren't trailing by so much 2) are playing weaker teams) or 3) on a more distributed basis over the course of a game.

Tonight it seemed like the very wrong time to try it out. But I'd like to see it again in a better situation.

JJ's youth showed with his rushes in the post and that should be corrected over time. I don't think we should expect him to be a crunch time player just yet. He should know by now that he needs to bring it on the defensive end to get minutes from MB.

Mo has to be dealing with his shoulder injury. No other way his play of late is because of anything else (I hope).

I believe that the best course of action with Powe is to get him minutes one game and pretty much sit him the next. He does not look at all like he is ready for regular rotation minutes and that is okay, we will have a deep front court after Z and Shaq are back. Powe can be a key sub in games during the playoffs and that is why he should get some run these last 20 games or so.

On Moon and Jawad, MB needs to figure out where he is at. I don't think it's beneficial for either player to be yoyoed in and out of the lineup and it sure as hell isn't going to help the team. IMO Moon should be the go to guy, but if MB likes Jawad then he should give Jawad the minutes. Quit playing games with their hearts, Mike.

Delonte and Varejao were spot on tonite and if they are consistently on we are going to be near impossible to beat. Delonte has played exponentially better lately and way more under control; not much to say about Andy because everyone knows what he means to the team.

The turnovers and FTs speak for themselves but I believe that Antawn will be a huge X factor closing out this championship run. He can pick up Mo's slack and Mo can pick up his, but when both are off we look positively pedestrian. Shaq being out doesn't help right now, but I would like to see both of these guys playing at the top of their respective games.

Any way you cut it, I think we have looked pretty damn good with no true 5.

Cavs win, Lakers loss.

HAPPY FRIDAY EVENING TO YOU ALL!!!

An even better idea than Hickson in the post would be letting Jamison post up....

Seriously, every time I've seen him catch in the post, he's scored. Why not go to him down low more? Why don't the Cavs post him up more!?!?!?

I think the team is working Antawn into the offense and finding where is comfort zone is. If Antawn wants the ball in the post we will get it to him; let the team get comfortable with each other and it will come.
