Game 65 | Spurs @ Cavs | March 8, 2010 | 7:00pm (EST)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Unexpected numbers tonight:

Duncan, 34 minutes, 6-12, 5rbs, 5 asts, 2 blks, 2 TOs, 13 pts

Hickson, 35 minutes, 5-12, 7rbs, 0 asts, 0 blks, 3 TOs, 12 pts

JJ had plenty of problems, but he stuck with it. Clutch free throws, too. I'll take it. I thought Duncan would be the Spur with 38 points tonight.

he took everybody to the office

Man, that may have been the most enjoyable win of the season.

Something that won't get a lot of run: JJ helped hold Duncan to 13/5 (and JJ himself had 12/7). His athleticism really, really helps out on defense.

This game was an anomoly in many ways, just because jawad outscored moon tonight. doesnt mean hes the better player.

Yeah, but you have to admit that there's no way Jamario could have pulled off the offensive moves Jawad did.

Yes, I know I was pissed early on at JJ in this game... but he definitely came through. Great game for him.

You beat me to it, Wuck -- great job!

Who would have thought that JJ's biggest playoff contribution to come may be his defensive presence on opposing centers/PF's?

He got a piece of at least one of Duncan's shots, just as he blocked one of Howard's in the last Magic-Cavs showdown.

You go, JJ!

Moons a much better player defensively than Jawad, and Jawad hit a REALLY lucky hot streak.
Im not trying to bash the guy but usually when I see Jawad Williams taking those shots I cringe.Jawad might have a little bit of a better shooting touch, and he did help keep us in the game but...
If its a pick up game im picking moon 9/10;hes just the more complete player.

No doubt -- he made his presence felt. And, he's getting closer to "clicking" on offense all the time. You can see him getting there, step by step.

So glad we still have him.

I'll admit that I thought Timmy was going to destroy JJ tonite but I am thrilled JJ held his own. Kid needs to calm down on the offensive end though.

Man... I thought I was gonna have to rip some people to shreds for deciding to freak out IF we lost, key word is "IF".

But no... we showed even more toughness tonight than ever. We proved to be beyond the teams of yesteryear. And we proved we could pull out a tough victory with a second half without any of our starting frontcourt players. No LeBron. No Shaq. No Antawn.

How did we do it? Fundamentals and grinders.

So, nobody will be allowed to call out our team in future losses. Because they will be shown this game as proof, then asked to have a nice big fat helping of STFU.

And you don't cringe when Jamario puts up 3s or when he stops and pops up a long range two?

Before the game
Cavs have a miserable record for games played without Lebron. Spurs HAVE to win this one.
Cupcake game fellas
Cavs suck without LeBron, i say we win by 14
Spurs 102 Cavs 81
After the game
If the Spurs are going to get 70+ points from 3 players and still lose, this is not going to end well.
Really ... what is it about Cleveland and their gym that Tim just can't overcome (offensively speaking)?
If the cavs can beat us minus LeBron, Shaq, and Jamison... can you say championship
Cleveland remains a house of horrors for Tim and his shooting stroke
losing to Kobe-less Lakers

losing to Roy-less Blazers

losing to Lebron-less Cavs.
On the bright side...this is a game we were projected to lose (when we thought Lebron would play).
Don't let Mo Williams beat you, damn it.
