Game 67 | Cavaliers vs. Celtics | March 14, 2010 | 3:30 PM (EST)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
cam busts in like a cocky asshole with his numbers...

This may be the first time you've used the words busts, cock, and asshole in the same sentence outside of OT-eayor. For this I applaud you.

You all seriously blow.. we dominate the Celtics and you all find something to complain about... None of the free throws were clutch free throws.

What does clutch have to do with it? If anything, that would only serve to prove the point that we do NOT have focus and are not ready to shoot. Why is that? Because the game was over? Most of the misses came in the first half when the game was not over, so that excuse doesn't make sense.

Some of us are damn concerned. I don't care how bad the Spurs shot and still won. You can certainly lose games by missing foul shots. You leave points on the table FOR FREE for gosh sakes. FOR FRIKKEN FREE. Unguarded shots. No hands in face. No players running at you. No nothing. You stand there. You shoot. Easy stuff. This isn't like it's only happened a few times. It happens ALL THE DAMN TIME.

I want to know how the Cavs as a team talk about this foul shooting, and how the coaches stress it or not and what they do about it, if anything at all. Or does everyone simply laugh it off? It's obvious some members don't see it as a big deal. I happen to not be one of them.

Me too

For those of you frustrated about the Cavs' FT shooting (I'm annoyed too), Mike Brown said in his postgame interview, which is on cavs.com, that they shoot a lot of them in practice. He just hopes that they knock them down in games. So I guess it's not the coaching staff's fault, just the players' lack of concentration.

Jamison having trouble with being so wide open.

How many wide open jumper misses today?

We wouldn't have to make them down the stretch if we make them earlier on in the game.

Watching the second half now, as I had to go work on a group project at halftime.

One thing that stood out and shows the importance of Shaq, even on offense:

We tried to run "split" (IIRC, that's what it's called) where we put LeBron in the corner, Shaq in the post, and Mo on the wing with the ball, passing to Shaq. However, we had AV in Shaq's spot, and KG just pushed him out of position, almost to the three point line by the time AV got the ball, which completely threw off the play and it ended in LeBron having to bail us out.

I forget what team it was that we ran the play against, but we ran it in crunch time and and first Mo got a three and then LeBron got a dunk. Right now, we don't have anyone who can establish post position to the point where they can't get pushed out of position or denied the ball. Z can give us that against most centers, but Shaq can and has given us that position against anyone, which makes that play, which is pretty deadly, a play we can go to when we need a basket.

Granted, we didn't run it in crunch time today, but if we would have tried it in crunch time, it probably wouldn't have worked.

Great point. A prior post stated that a game like yesterday didn't have "clutch" foul shots. Well gee; many games in the past would never have got close in the 4th if we had made a few more shots earlier. Last night we won by double digits just barely. If we make those eleven shots in the first half, we would have been up by 17 points at half time instead of six. Players could have been rested in the 4th quarter if we had made a few more foul shots.

Well gee Mike Brown; thanks for letting us know you practice them. It's the way you may practice them that I have concerns with. Is there a coach on the team that knows all the ins and outs of foul shooting? I actually have my doubts. There is more to it than simply following through and looking good.

April is gonna be a tough month

but i think we will have shaq by then
