Game #75 | Clippers @ Cavs | March 30, 2025 | 3:30 p.m.

Interesting game. Tye Lie really wanted this one and it was well deserved win by the Cavs.

Things I think this definitely confirmed:

1. Hunter cannot cover guards on an island. Doesn't have the foot speed.
2. Cavs can execute a game plan when needed. They found the bigs multiple times when clips went small.
3. Mitchell is getting into playoff gear. Extra minutes and hustle. Still not shooting amazing but getting there
4. Teams are shrinking the floor more. They are less scared of our shooters. In the playoffs they will devote all their time to containing Mitchell garland and Mobley and hope the role players can't make shots.
Very going points, all. As to your last one, completely agree and outside of Jerome and Strus, not sure I trust anyone to be reliable from long range. It’s going to be so crucial for Merrill, Wade, and Hunter to be timely with their threes and that could be a very frustrating proposition.

But in the end, too, if Mitchell and Garland attack the basket and the defense is so focused on them, could lead to some open, easy shots or dunks for Jarrett Allen.

The Cavs played 16 games in 29 days in March and were constantly traveling. I'm thinking that takes its toll on the legs resulting in more missed 3's. As a team they shot only 34.5% from distance in March.

If teams want to pack the paint and invite the Cavs to shoot 3's in the playoffs it could backfire on them. Even after a poor shooting month they still lead the league in 3-point percentage.

There is less travel in the playoffs. We'll be going to Detroit or Indiana and Boston after the first round. There are back-to-back home games and road games with days off in between. I'm optimistic the 3-point shooting will improve in the playoffs and that the dropoff in March was due to a condensed schedule and a lot of travel.

There is a thread in the Cavs subreddit where the origin of that shirt was discussed. Was really cool that the person who made it made one for JA and he actually put it on. LOL
JA is such a good dude

I don't think teams are very concerned about Mobley's scoring. No one is doubling him and they are daring him to take 3's. I think teams are deciding, and it will continue in the playoffs, that it will be hard for us to beat them scoring two at a time because Mobley and Allen can only do so much damage from 5 ft in. Opponents would love to see us return to a crowded lane. Mobley being able to hit uncontested 3's at a decent clip is going to be very important because he's going to get them until he proves he can win games from there. If he can't, we can't play him and Allen together and we can't play a 5 out without going small. Teams are going to bargain that of our top 3 scoring options (DG, DM & Mobley) Mobley is the least likely to kill them and, if he does, it probably messes up our offensive flow the most. He's going to have to prove them wrong.
