Tbh, this is no joking matter. That injury's a lot more serious than I think any of us imagined. A random post from some guy on RealGM talking about the injury:

Treatment

Fractures involving the maxilla often cause a lot of swelling, so surgeons might delay treating a maxillary fracture for a couple of days until the swelling has gone down. CT scans may be used to get a clear picture of the fracture.

The first step to treating a maxillary fracture involves realigning and setting the fragmented bone, a process called "reduction." If the fracture is fairly simple, this may be done by binding the jaws together in order to use the lower jaw for support.

More complex fractures to the maxilla and surrounding bone may need to be treated with a procedure called "open reduction." This means surgically exposing the bone and re-positioning the fractured pieces with the use of small screws and plates that are attached directly to the bone. These screws are left to hold the bone together while it heals over the following several weeks.

Facial swelling caused by the injury can take weeks to fully subside. Recovery will also likely involve maintaining a liquid or soft diet for some time after the injury - depending on the fracture, this might be from one to six weeks.

Ouch. In good conscience I can't joke about something that serious.

Gibson might as well go and be a stay home dad.

It makes you wonder if something went down at the time of his wife in the hospital and boobie out for a couple of games. Something must have happened as it's very obvious MB has no intentions of ever playing Gibson one minute in the playoffs. If he did, he'd be playing right now in order to get him ready to go. Even if Gibson was in any plans at all, he'd be playing a little now. He's not injured in any way, right? Something happened.

It is bizarre isn't it. I mean I'm not a big Gibson fan but it is just... strange...

...

I hope I don't have to wait until he's cut to hear the story, the suspense is killing me. :(

It is especially weird considering Boobie is having his arguably best season as a pro. He must have done something to MB to be in his doghouse. It is sad because I was liking his game this year too.

He really hasn't improved, he just got healthy. He's the same player he was as a rookie......dangerous three point shooter who can't dribble around my grandmother. Only thing you can say he has improved is his defense, but that's splitting hairs.

Per this thread and this article he was out with some kind of mid-foot contusion...

Wrong. Gibson's game showed big progress in the area of creating his own shot. He still couldn't create for others very well but Gibson made huge strides this year in shooting off the dribble, incorporating shot fakes and making good decisions to help him score the basketball in different ways. He seemed to really be developing into a more well rounded scorer, a combo guard of that "Flip Murray" ilk, except obviously with a much better defensive game than Flip Murray and obviously was still a stud spotting up from three, where that isn't exactly Flip's biggest strength.

Yup, the only issue is that he failed to grow an extra 3 inches.

Mike Brown said in his interview today (Weds) that Gibson's foot injury may keep him out tomorrow/Thursday as well. He said he's beeing extra careful with anyone who is not 100%.
