Game 82 | Cavaliers @ Hawks | April 14th, 2010 | 8:00 PM (EST)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Alright, pre-season is over. A few more days and the real season begins.

Yeah, I think we should sit LeBron and Shaq -- hey, why not Mo and Jamison too -- in the first round, so that they don't get hurt and we have them for Orlando. lol

But hey, whatever. If this is what LeBron wants. But they'd better be right. Not what I would have done. You are what your habits are, and the Cavs' habits are now bad.

*happily anticipates playoffs*

Look at theses fucks on the bench, laughing, we're losing and gave no effort but they are happy because of one dunk

IT DOESN'T MATTER.

Game is over. Let it go. All Together. Let us throw the futility of this city away. The playoffs are here.

I think the Hawks already did enough ass whooping.

Yeah but this game means nothing to them. Knock on wood, no one on the cavs have been hurt tonight or anything. So this game doesnt matter.

In the playoffs maybe going down 0-1 to Chicago or being tied 3-3 can light a fire under LeBron and the Cavs to actually give a damn.

You see, im on both sides of this mini arguement thats been in this thread all night. Im all for resting the starters for the playoffs. But why not rest Z, AP, or AJ? If anything LeBron and definately Mo are the ones who should have played 10-15 mins tonight if ANYONE had to.

But when it gets to the point like the 4Q in Orlando when we coulda won if Mo was put in the game. Tonight they look like they just want to get to the nearest club. I can see why butthurt writers say games like tonight is a blow to the integrity of the game. I dont agree, but I can see where they are coming from. Tonight is the last game of the season for us...so it really wouldnt be a big deal if they hadnt been playing bad for the last few weeks now. Only playing the 4Q and winning the game is cool, but I just hope they know what they're doing.

They really dont even care enough to make free throws tonight.

Meh. I guess I just dont wanna lose this year.

I guess I better cancel my plans for a parade

Coach Brown is screwed regardless unless they win it all. If he plays Shaq and Bron and one of them gets hurt we'll be on his ass and if he sits them apparently it's a signal to the team that this game doesn't mean shit (and they've played like it doesn't mean shit). At the end of the day I'll be shocked if we're not ready on Saturday (or Sunday).

If we shot 100% from the free throw line this game would be in overtime. LOL

I never thought I'd see Cavs fans ledging over a meaningless game where our third string logged serious minutes.

I usually enjoy your posts Cratylus, but this one makes no sense. What is the relevance here? Where is the connection?

They aren't making you watch anything, if you don't like the product, don't watch it. It's that simple. What's all this talk of who should do what with whoever's paycheck? It's a bunch of nonsense, to be honest. Unless you're Dan Gilbert.

It's pretty simple, really. If you're a professional athlete getting paid millions of dollars to PLAY A GAME, I expect you to go out there and show some fucking heart whether the game means anything or not. Because if you don't, you make a mockery of every single hard-working individual who goes to work and busts his ass to bring home a normal-sized paycheck... you know, the FANS who PAY to watch you play.

If I were on this team drawing such a large paycheck I would BUST MY ASS OUT THERE ON EVERY SINGLE FUCKING PLAY. And to see these guys essentially give zero effort out there is infuriating to me. Because if I did my job with the same lackadaisical, "I don't give a shit" attitude for even one single day, I'd be FIRED.

That's why I'm mad. It has nothing to do with them losing. I couldn't care less about that because, win or lose, it changes nothing in the grand scheme of playoff seeding. What I do care about is giving effort... and I saw almost NONE tonight.

I guess that's not true, I've seen Cavs fans ledge about less.

What an awful way to end the season, just PURE SUCKINESS.

Fuck you guys, I'm happy. Money time is upon us.

Somehow I think if you were at the end of an 82-game season that put an enormous strain on your physical well being you would be singing a different tune.

Wrong. The Hawks players are in the same situation: the end of an 82-game season and their players didn't use an excuse to prevent them from playing with effort.

I agree about maybe we haven't competed like we should've. (mike brown admitted that he made a mistake about the 4th in Orl)

I just don't see how it will change anything in the playoffs. The Cavs have been at this for years, if they have any sense in them, they'll realize that they need to give it 100% when it matters. So many other teams this season have had crap levels of intensity during the season.

Orlando had a midseason slump that allowed us to climb the standings, Boston completely lost it, Atlanta melted down in the 4th three straight times against us, LA has lost several games against playoff teams to end the season, and have fallen behind Orlando in the standings. I'm just glad we showed up when it mattered, and are only now falling flat when we wrapped up the seeding and are resting all our good players.
