Game Thread 2018-19 Season Game #25 | Cleveland Cavaliers vs Sacramento Kings | December 7th, 2018

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm Curious to see how the guys respond with their good showing last game. I'd like to see Sexton that aggressive.

Odd we trade Hill the night Shump comes back to the Q. Nance getting back playing PF helps at least with his development. Happy we don't have to worry about Dekker taking PF minuting going forward.

Stop letting Tristan and Nance bring the fucking ball up court. They are horrible at initiating offense.

Clarkson would look good with the Kings, or at least that's what Koby should be telling the Kings front office.

Also they need to stop letting TT pass out high. He is almost as bad as Zizic at doing it.

Blossomgame needs to reach his evolved form....

What a shitty Pokemon.

So I watched our offense for a solid three minutes and realized "wow, this offense is fake hustle..it always ends in an iso or errant shot"

So I decided to look at our assists and lo and behold, we're dead last in the league at 19/game. Our leading assist was none other than the now departed Hill with a whooping 2.8 per game.

Post trade, I expect Delly to settle in and become the leader in assists for us at 4+, if he's healthy. Cedi is the best on the current roster by far, but it feels like he hasn't handled the ball since Drew took over.

All that to say that the roster is full of players who couldn't make a read if their lives depended on it.

Clarkson and Burks trying to coexist with each other. Burks seems to just help with making the right pass.

There's something about Burks I sorta like.

He's a solid player.

I don't want to sign him to a big deal or anything and I do expect him to be traded as an expiring but he's a nice guard off the bench.

Yeah I agree. The team isn't generating assists they are aimlessly moving the ball. Only Clarkson and Sexton can break the defense and neither passes enough off that.

Delly should be able to run the pick and roll with our big better and hopefully that will rub off on the other guards.

I do Think Having a combination of Love, Cedi, Delly, And sexton with Nance at times is going to be a unit we can see really move the ball properly and actually run an offense.

And this is why it's entirely too hard to judge Sexton's PG skills. The coaching staff and the roster construction are not favorable for a rookie PG at all. he doesn't have a single player who he can give it to and get a quick bucket. Clarkson, Hood, and now Cedi are all slow ass developing iso plays. TT thinks he's a Point Forward. Nance can't consistently make jump shots and should be playing closer to the basket.

Where is Sexton supposed to get his assist from? It doesn't help that every single time Sexton gets the ball TT and Nance continue to move closer to him. Why do they keep doing that? Get under the basket or get out of the way. Not smart basketball at all.

The number of actual assists is much less. Many of the assists we have is just to pass the ball someone else for a shot, without actually creating extra value with the pass.

And they don't know how to run a pick and roll. That also pulls down assist numbers a lot.

While I agree with what you say, I think it is ultimately a problem with coaching. It is not that they try and can't do it. They don't even try to move the ball properly. No good habits on offence.
