Game Thread 2019-20 Season Game #11 | Cleveland Cavaliers vs Miami Heat | Nov 14th, 2019

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Porter with 5 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds, 2 steals (2 turnovers) on 2-4 (1 made 3) from the field in the fourth quarter.
Active on defense. Creates so much separation with his ball handling. Slithery. His vision and passing abilities aren't shabby at all. Makes good full court passes and generally makes good decisions with the ball.

Obviously, the Cavs came up short, but very good to see from the young fella!

Hey, good effort to keep competing. Just way too many turnovers in the 1st quarter led to really easy buckets.

Yeah, I turned this one off early in the first half due to the embarrassing play. Looks like Cavs did considerably better in the second half, particularly the fourth, but it was too much of a hole to dig out of.

Only thing is if him, Sexton, and Garland are on the floor at the same time I'll get confused as to who is who from time to time.

When a unit helps you hang tough and climb back in, it’s tough to change it up with under five minutes left in the game, but in this case, Beilein should have brought in fresher legs for some of the five that are clearly spent now.

I think Beilein didn't adjust to the Heats tonight. Really should have been playing at least two wings all game. We should have saw a lineup of 1 guard, 3 wings, and a big at some point.

Sexton and Garland actually started to get going before the second unit came in then Beilein doesn't even bring back either of them to try to make the final push in the last 5 minutes.

Maybe, even in a loss, those 3s by garland tonight will wake him up. It was nice to finally see him make a few

Porter on defense is a wonderful thing. Kevin Love seemed to have a decent stat sheet but man, I was not very encouraged by much of his play. I did like the defense near the end. Wonder why Garland and Sexton went out of the line up. And where did Tristan go? Some really BAD offensive sets (if you can call them that) in the 2nd quarter. I thought I was watching The Lue Show again. Their refusal to quit down almost 30 made up for it. I wish they could have got it down to 8 or less when they had the chance.

At the moment we only have two wings, cedi KPJ, who else should he have played?

Nice comeback in the second half after being down by 24 at halftime. They were clearly not ready to play. In the second half JB went mostly with this bench; Delly, Clarkson, and Porter were key. I noticed Sexton didn't play much in the second half and only played 27 minutes total. That group made a nice run to close to within 10 - they never quit.

Love seems to have forgotten how to score from the low post. This has been going on since the season started. He's not drawing the shooting fouls he used to and is turning the ball over a lot. He led the team with 21 and 10 tonight but committed four turnovers, including another careless outlet pass that was intercepted.

After the Heat scored 68 points in the first half the Cavs held them to 40 in the second. Really good defensive effort that turned a potential blowout into a respectable loss.
Great to see Garland knock down three shots from long range. Maybe that will get him going. Porter had a nice game as well. I saw a lot of good things from him on both ends of the floor.

Triston Thompson finally had a bad game with 2 points, 3 rebounds and 4 turnovers in 23 minutes. Even after Nance got hurt Beilein didn't put TT back in. They went with Love, Cedi, and three guards. I get the feeling JB was not happy with Sexton and TT, or maybe he just liked the combination that was playing well in the second half.

Hope Nance is OK, but it looks like he messed up his thumb. With Zizic and Henson out we can't afford to lose Nance, too.

Really liked what Porter brought tonight. 4 assists on nice passes that seemed natural. Shot the open 3 with more confidence than before, but he is still passing that up too much. He has a lot of tools, they just aren't sharp yet
