Game Thread 2019-20 Season Game #17 | Cleveland Cavaliers vs Brooklyn Nets | Nov 25th, 2019

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I don’t understand: if we rebounded a foul shot with 20.2 seconds left, how could we get a shot clock violation?

Offensive rebound of a 2nd freethrow = shot clock reset to 14 seconds. They rebounded at 20.2, shot clock expired at 6.2 seconds.
If you think about it, it makes sense. 24 seconds is for bringing it from the baseline, and usually it is walked up and crossed midcourt around 16 -18 seconds left. If they already have the ball in shooting range, 24 seconds is a bit too much at that point , and they wanted to quicken the games.

right...thats all on Cedi
Cedi is to blame for everything despite making the inbound pass to Clarkson that tied the game , getting the stop on Dinwiddie that kept it tied before our last possesion. and shooting an efficient 6/8 from the field.
This loss totally belongs to Cedi it's so clear.

24 was too much, especially at the end of games.

I think you might confuse people with getting to specific, it's 14 reset on any offensive rebound. It specifically being free throws doesn't matter.

If anyone feels bad about this game, you can always tune in to see OKC beat the warriors by 40 or so in 45 minutes.

It was a badly drawn up play to begin with. Too little movement which forced Cedi to have to make a high pass.

More like the last 10 seconds
Okay, give him the poor defense at the end. I don't really see how he was supposed to make something out of the inbounds plays, even if he made the perfect pass to Colin Brooklyn was defending it really well it would have been a bad shot regardless..
I just don't see how people zero in on Cedi when others played much worse and yet no one talks about them. Colin let Joe Harris of all people drive past him near the end of the game, and shot the ball horribly even omitted that bad situation at the end. Tristain was completely invisible and got annihilated by Jarret Allen.

I get it's the recency bias in effect and people remember the last plays of the game more than the ones that proceeded them, I just think the blame should be passed around more.

fair point...

I'm sorry I don't think I meant it. It's just very annoying to see people on this forum trash Cedi when he played a very good overall game. Maybe I meant I hate the reactive nature of these game threads.
Every player on every board gets bashed, it’s how sports forums work. Pretty much every player that played copped negative comments in this thread

We don’t want GSW to get a high pick. We want US to get a high pick. THERE’S our consolation for this loss - the tank barrels on.

Is it me, or has Sexton’s shot selection gotten worse as the season goes on? He also still shows a lack of court vision.

Porter in the other hand, makes me super excited.

I think teams are scheming for Sexton more. His shooting slump from 3 also allows teams to not have to cover him so close on the perimeter. Also the more he plays with Clarkson and Nance instead of Love, his transition opportunities seem to decrease.

His court vision isn't going to change over night.

Fixed it for you. He's got a scorers mentality which is fine. Those types don't develop court vision. Its why Lou Williams is a great Sixthman. His lack of court vision doesn't hurt off the bench when he can just light up the scoreboard. Every team needs guys who can get their own shot of the bench. Its where shooting guards in a point guards body thrive. If one person finds me an example of a guy who came in with as terrible court vision as Sexton and became a competent PG I'll change my tune. But I can't think of one guy with Sextons level of court vision that became a competent PG.
