Because they still have a bunch of good players. They won 58 games the season before Kawhi got there man. We won like 33 before LeBron got here.

They're also notorious for NOT drafting really small guards....just fwiw. Perhaps a philosophy the Cavs need to think about. Length matters in the NBA.

In fact they go out of their way to draft length. Even if it busts, like Bruno Cabaculo.

Agree with length is important but Lowry and VanVleet is a tiny backcourt so dont think theyre the best example to use

Still - Toronto loses one of the best players in the game to FA, and they are still a playoff team. WE lose one of the best players in the game, and we look like a junior high team. Why?

Because they draft and develop their players well, unlike the Cavs, who don't develop anyone and look to cut bait almost instantly.

Dion Waiters, Anthony Bennett, Andrew Wiggins. I mean..my god. What a graveyard of top 5 picks. All of whom have went on to suck outside of a Cavs uniform.

Joe Harris was a great pick, Cavs did nothing to develop him at all and then cut bait instantly over a bad summer league.
