Game Thread 2019-20 Season Game #58 | Cleveland Cavaliers vs Philadelphia 76ers | Feb 26th, 2020

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
28-1-2 is such a shameless line from Sexton. But >50% shooting so I shouldn’t complain.

I saw a lot of ball movement in the second half, especially on the beautiful possession that led to the first of Love’s last two late game threes, so I didn’t have a problem at all with how Colin played tonight

Eventually Love will go down again and/or teams adjust and the jumbo lineup will falter.

Bickerstaff is impressing me, going back to some things the Cavs were doing last year with Sexton to get him in comfort zones to score... and I have to say again, the Love and TT interior work is helping perimeter players shine, especially in late games. There are interior passes and picks that veteran winners know how to make, and out of Beilein's dictatorship they get to use it.

Doesn’t matter anymore. Worst team could get the damn 5th pick lol

We might as well win

The only thing for the Cavs because of those damn protections on the picks is to stay in the bottom 6. 7+ odd is risky for us to lose the pick. I think the front office will be happy with the 4th or 5th odds.

Can Sexton get some praise without someone nitpicking something about his stats...

He played pretty much a SG today with the injuries and Delly inserted into the lineup. Delly on most nights is useless off the ball on offense. Letting Sexton and Garland play off the ball for a couple games here and there will help them their develop. The assists don't matter if they aren't playing PG.

That's why I always say he's not a point guard.

I need a larger sample size to see if this absurd lack of court vision is part of the game plan for this specific game, or just his liability.

His assists number has gone up the last month. How much of a sample size you need...

Tonight is concerning obviously. BTW, at this point you are arguing both sides of the same issue.

Here's my argument: Two game win streak. Enjoy it.

He is a combo guard who can look like a PG some nights and a pure SG on other nights. When he can be this effective of a scorer, the assist don't really matter much. The other night when his shot wasn't falling as well and had 9 assists, that was the growth I'm looking for. It's understanding that when he isn't scoring well that he has to get others involved.

Also even tonight he was making the right pass when his shot wasn't there and wasn't pressing the issue. The actual assist numbers just doesn't show that.

I dunno - I didn't see Collin pressing all that much. He seemed to make the right play most of the time. The Sixers seemed content to make him beat them...and he did.

Back in the beginning of the year, we were winning games when Love and TT were playing strong. Now we have have Nance and Porter and Sexton playing pretty well. We could actually start WINNING some games. We have to be careful... :friendly wink:
