Game Thread 2019-20 Season Game #6 | Cleveland Cavaliers vs Dallas Mavericks | Nov 3rd, 2019

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I wasn't paying attention...why did Beilein pull both Sexton and Garland?

I'm guessing partly because of the poor offense last night (mostly the too much dribbling and not moving the ball, passing up open 3s to dribble amongst the trees in the paint) but also Garland is a turnstile on defense in that he just seems to always lose his guy. Clarkson continues to be the same way on defense - at least 2 glaring examples last night v Dallas but he is scoring efficiently and has limited his blowing up the offense this year.

It's not a bad thing to pick and choose times to sit the young players so they can watch how the vets play. The Cavs miss Delly.

Cedi played Luka pretty well, better than last year. Nobody else could at all.

I thought 3 pt shooting was going to be a bigger strength for this team.

Windler when ever he comes back should help. Also Nance chucking them will make the teams numbers look worse. Cedi and KLove are hitting them at a respectable clip. KPJ is a work in process. Sexton and Clarkson are passable. Garland is in a rut shooting wise. The threes will eventually start falling.

Yeah Windler should help quite a bit. We also just need another wing that is willing to hoist. Nance is looking tentative and is shortarming it and KPJ is taking only one or 2 a game. He has hit 2, I hope that means his confidence will grow. Collin has been good, but should probably be shooting or passing. Everybody needs to look for Cedi more. He is open on the break constantly, and he is open from 3 and has been stroking it.

I am seeing why he dropped a bit. He can't stop himself from dribbling and trying to put all his moves on a guy. It's good they are trying to get him to just move the ball and shoot because he wants to just put it between his legs and all this.

Overall, maybe now that the team has won "when they weren't supposed to" makes it look like teams are taking the Cavs more seriously. They are actively trying to disrupt the offense now, and then when one thing doesn't work, all these iso players are going back to their old habits.

Still, I just thought guys would be bombing more. The rest of the league is and the Cavs are getting open shots because the paint has been crowded.

I heard the Hawks wanted 8 + Making the 2019 pick they owned unprotected+ something else. I might have done it in hindsight.

come on, in hindsight we literally should have traded anything and everything we had for Doncic. Basically the whole game in the NBA is getting your hands on a transcendent player and building around him.

Yeah in hindsight it would have made sense. In hindsight.

at the time it would have been the right move too, because front offices are paid the big bucks to predict what we ordinary civilians can only see in hindsight. The Mavericks saw it. We could have too, but we didn't (in fairness it's hard to be great at making those calls -- hard but not impossible).

Only reason I would be hesitant is because if anyone could have ruined the kid it would be the Ty Lue/Larry Drew shit show.
