Game Thread 2019-20 Season Game #60 | Cleveland Cavaliers vs Indiana Pacers | Feb 29th, 2020

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I just hate the two small guards on the court at the same time, they just get abused too easy. Have to rectify that next year.

Good game. Not enough hot guys to win.

Drummond doesn't play very smart. Wish he was willing to work on his game for real

He is an odd player, the stats are great, the impact not so much and he makes some disheartening plays. Cavs really struggling to find the balance, Love was very good tonight, played a highly disciplined game then you had Drummond and his erratic play, can be the other way around on any given night.

Garland needs to take major steps next year, he plays like a sallow kid, he is a kid after all, needs to come back with a mans body.

at least delly got another personal W

the cavs with delly on the court are now 28-22 and up by 13 if it was 1 long continous game, he should feel very comfortable

I just want more and more lineups going forward with Porter and Nance on the court. Defense is more flexible.

I really liked that Delly, Sexton, Porter, Love, Nance lineup a lot. I want to see more of that. Nance is our best defensive player and Porter is probably second. The Delly and Nance keep the ball moving and sorta offset Sexton and Porter at times.

I haven't been impressed with Drummond, mainly with his defense. Tristan is more active than him on defense...imo

We will see in the last 20-something games, how this experiment turns out.

I thought they played well against a tough, experienced, team on the other end of a back-to-back. They are, for the most part, enjoyable to watch these days. Need to take the next step next year with, hopefully, some coaching stability and a little tweaking of the roster. IMO they've moved forward this year in several respects. Need to do so again next season and there's no reason they shouldn't.

Good game that was tied after three quarters but I think fatigue was a factor as the Cavs were outscored 27-18 in the 4th. T.J. Warren had a huge game with 30 points and 8 assists. The Pacers' starters played very well; Brogdon had 22 points and 8 assists, Sabonis was 18 and 10, Oladipo chipped in 19, and Turner had 10 points, 10 rebounds, 4 blocks, and was a +23. Their bench only had 14 points but their starters were so far superior to the Cavs' starters that it didn't matter.

Andre Drummond had a great game with 27 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals. He stuffed the stat sheet but was still a -18, meaning the Cavs were +9 when he was on the bench. We've been hearing that the Pistons came to the conclusion that even when Drummond puts up good numbers it doesn't translate into wins and we saw some of that tonight.

What really hurt the Cavs was going 5-for-22 on 3's. If they just went 8-for-22, which is not even that good, it would have been a tie game. Like I said, they may have had tired legs from the back-to-back and tired legs mean poor 3-point shooting. Indiana did not play yesterday. I think the Cavs played the Pacers even but ran out of gas late. They could have used Thompson tonight.

Cedi only played 22 minutes while KPJ played 34 minutes off the bench. It's easy to see who the Cavs think will lead them in the future.

Tonight's game was a sneak preview of what next year's team will look like, assuming Thompson leaves in free agency. Take the team we saw tonight, subtract Delly (who is also a free agent and wasn't playing until Exum got hurt), and add Windler, possibly McKinnie, and a high draft pick and you have next year's team, assuming Drummond picks up his option.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Windler playing next season. If,Porter,Garland and Sexton to an extent work on their three-point shot I think this team can possibly make a playoff push next season.

It also depends, who they draft too.

Beilein was really high on Windler, who is another 6'7" perimeter shooter. It will be interesting to see if they experiment with a big lineup such as Drummond, Love, Nance, Windler/Porter and Sexton. Yeah, I know that's only one guard, but Windler, Porter, Nance and Love are such good passers and ball handlers that I think it could work.

Run Porter as the pg and you have a really big lineup

Yeah, that would be like the Warriors' great teams, nobody under 6'4" and everybody switches on defense.

Porter, Windler, Nance, Love and Drummond would be an interesting lineup. Or if we end up getting Anthony Edwards we could run Porter and Edwards at guard with a front line of Windler, Nance, and Love.

Did anybody watch the Canton Charge play in RMF yesterday? Shot 16-35 from 3! Wade 4-6. 5 straight games of 19, 20, 20, 27, and 29 points. Has made 24 consecutive free throws. Sir Dom went off for 29 yesterday.
