Game Thread 2020-21 Season | Game #20 | Cavs @ T-Wolves | January 31, 2021

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Dotson was feeling it, sat him, never saw the floor again. Also, they absolutely have to figure out a way for Windler to start launching some 3's. Some more pt might be a good place to start. I honestly think getting Love back on the floor would be a huge help right now . . .

In 13 minutes Windler had two turnovers and nothing else. Why should he get more playing time?

We need shooting. If he's part of the plan somewhat long term you need to play him. He's a rookie, they make mistakes pretty frequently . . .

Because he's played 6 career games and has looked really good. Give him a longer leash. Need to get him more burn.

That was complete jobbing. Not a serious contest at all. Keeping the ball out of Sexton's hands for the sake of DRUMMOND's CASSPI FINGERS HAVIN' ASS!!? What in the Mike Brown Offense FUCK was this?!!

That pissed me off more than the Knicks game. WInnable game that they didn't even try to win.

Drummond ,,,this is a joke. 1 on 5 every possession.
The man shot 50% from the field (9-18), 25 points 22 rebs 5 assists and only THREE of the Cavs 19 turnovers and you still blast him. If the guards would do their job, run over to him and get the ball from him instead of filling lanes Drummond would have his hands on the ball in open court so much!

Before,I go to bed,Dotson should have played more. I don't understand, why you don't play a guy that was playing well.He should have been there with Sexton or Garland.....

The Cavs went almost ten mins without a field goal. Yet people believe we don’t need a player who can take over games! SMH!

Pathetic performance, losing to a team that has won 2 of it's last 16 games and was missing it's two best centers. The Wolves started four guards and a forward. Drummond feasted on the small lineup with 25 and 22 while Allen went 4-for-5. The Cavs' centers combined for 35 points and 27 rebounds but the Cavs still lost despite shooting 48.8% and dominating the boards 55-34.

The difference was 3-point shooting and turnovers. The Wolves made 16 from long range to 4 for the Cavs, a difference of 36 points. The Wolves also had 29 points off turnovers to 9 for the Cavs, a negative 20. So that's 56 points the Cavs were down on 3's and turnovers - too much to make up on 2-point shots.

At one point the Cavs were 3-for-17 in the fourth quarter as they scored only 104 points against the league's 27th ranked scoring defense.

Nance has the worst hands in the league. He fumbles more rebounds and passes than anyone and Allen and Drummond are right behind. There was an air ball from the corner that hit Nance on the head when he was looking right at it. It bounced to an opponent behind him and Nance fouled him on the put back. I replayed it to make sure. I've never seen a defensive player hit on the front of his head by an air ball.

Beasley, Russell, and Edwards combined to go 14-for-28 on 3's.

It will be interesting to see if JBB changes the approach tomorrow. The Cavs shot 16 threes compared to 40 for the Wolves. Despite the Cavs dominating the glass and the paint the Wolves won. Maybe Pistons coach Casey was right when he said you can't win with guys like Drummond in today's NBA. Drummond and Allen combined for 35 and 27 but who won? The guys who were shooting 3's.

The Cavs had a lot of careless turnovers where they telegraphed the pass which was easily stolen. On the other side, the T-Wolves only had 8 turnovers which is amazing since the Cavs lead the NBA in forcing turnovers and the Wolves are 21st in protecting the ball. This should have been a game where the Cavs get a lot of turnovers but the Wolves did a great job of protecting the ball. The Cavs are forcing 17.6 turnovers per game but tonight could only get eight.

Don't turn the ball over, force turnovers, and hit 3-pointers is the formula the Wolves used tonight. Let the other team get all the layups and rebounds it wants.

Actually it was from Sexton jump shot at 10:15 of the fourth quarter until Drummond's layup at 4:41, or 5:34. In that time the Cavs scored 2 points while the Wolves scored 10, which effectively ended the game.

In that stretch the Cavs missed four 2-point shots, two 3-point shots, had three shots blocked, and committed a turnover. That's not counting two more missed shots by Drummond where he got his own rebound and scored on the third attempt. That's a total of nine missed or blocked shots and a turnover.

But D'Angelo Russell got hot at the right time and hit three 3's in 2.5 minutes.

The Cavs held the T-Wolves scoreless for over three minutes but couldn't buy a bucket when the game was there to be won. From 10:15 to 6:56 the game was 92-90; neither team scored a point. That's when Russell got hot.

there were two consecutive wolves possessions where russell just abused garland.... that was when it got out of hand

At least we're not the Nets.
