Game Thread 2020-21 Season | Game #20 | Cavs @ T-Wolves | January 31, 2021

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
We keep having the conversations about taking singles and taking what’s available to us. I thought we got away from that. - JBB

The consensus after the game was the Cavs didn't protect the ball, didn't share the ball enough, and made too many poor decisions on shot selection.

"They make a run and instead of being in a position of trust, we try to do it all ourselves,” Bickerstaff said. “And that’s not who we are. That’s not the makeup of this team. This team at its best is a unit."

“We beat ourselves,” starting point guard Darius Garland said. “Take care of the ball, that’s it. When we take care of the ball, we’re a really good team.”

Force-feeding Drummond bogged them down -- even with him pouring in 25 points on 9-of-18 from the field. The Cavs aren’t a great isolation team and yet they fell into that trap too often, losing many of those individual battles. When guys drove into the paint, Bickerstaff wanted them to look for the simple play against a collapsing defense known for steals and blocks. Instead, guards got into tight spaces and made a mistake or forced a low-percentage shot. - Chris Fedor

“It doesn’t have to be complex. We don’t need to overthink it. The simple thing is to pass the ball to the open man,” Bickerstaff said.

During the Wolves decisive 10-2 run in the fourth quarter the Cavs had three shots blocked as they forced layups against a collapsing defense. They needed to kick the ball out to the perimeter and swing it around to the open 3-point shooter.

Let's see if anything changes tonight.

Garland was doing a lot of the team-killing.

This game was annoying..They allowed the Wolves to dictate the pace and they played along. They made sloppy turnover after turnover.
They were not hitting their shots and the guards seemed ansy about the pressure they were getting from the defensive side.
So yeah they were feeding it inside..
But I also saw the Wolves play like NY inside grabbing, scratching whatever..I hate the NY teams BTW..so that game was also sickening.

The team has gotten away from the Drive and kick because some teams stole the ball a couple of times. Play like you did against the Lakers

Drummond needs to kick the ball to the perimeter sometimes just sometimes

I hate the looks Drummond gives to Sexton when he does something Drummond thinks he shouldn't do(like pass him the ball every time). It's disgusting.

He had a bunch of them the other night.

It should be Kevin Love since he’s a championship vet being payed 30 plus mil.

You would think it would be him but the organization asked Nance and Drummond to be the leaders of the team....I guess, they don't think Love is that guy.

When,Sexton came back from injury in that first Nets game and Sexton missed his first two three point shots.Drummond gave him a look like, why you're shooting it. I don't understand, why Drummond continues to give Sexton those type of looks when Sexton is the team's best scorer. It makes no sense at all.
