Game Thread 2020-21 Season | Game #28 | Cavs @ Clippers | February 14, 2021

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I feel like if we put Sexton in the role he is made for and told him when you check in the game, just score, he could be 6th man of the year pretty much every year

He doesnt see the floor at all, he sees the rim. He has one thing in mind

And that is a great quality in the right role.
Bottom line. Very few on this team know their roles. IMO, Garland's primary role should be the one Delly has traditionally occupied. That he can go and get buckets if he needs is cool, but that shouldn't be his role.

This the game thread. Stop bitching and put me on ignore if different opinions trigger you. Sexton has been garbage tonight.

Not triggered but I humbly disagree with your opinion.

Hard to be competitive when your forwards are all awful.
Yep, this is the issue. Getting good forwards is a problem in the NBA nowadays. Seems every one does that better than the Cavs though.
Why Kevin Love (should be) here to stay.

Can you imagine what the score would have looked like if PG13 and Leonard had played????

Sexton -31. Woof.

but he shot 50% that’s all that matters!!

There is no excuse for getting run out of the gym when they are without PG and Kawhi. Lose - OK - They still have quality players. But we haven’t even been competitive the last 3

Nice to see Cedi knock down a few shots. Garland played well. The Clippers were just too good. They were making contested 3's. Lou Williams had 30 points. If Paul George can't play - no problem. Williams can score 30 any night he just can't do it every night anymore. Morris also had a great game as did Ibaka and Beverly. Those 30-somethings know how to play the game.

Prince was checked out. Right now we only have two guards since Dotson isn't doing anything and no power forwards.

The defense was awful but give the Clippers credit - they've all been playing the game a long time and are excellent shooters. But there's no excuse for the Cavs letting a 12-point halftime deficet balloon to 24 points in the first four-and-a-half minutes of the third quarter. At that point we were in garbage time.

The Cavs only hit 7 of 25 threes for 28%. They are so bad from long range. The Clippers hit 13 for an 18-point advantage from deep. They won by 17.

No power forwards till mop up time for sure.

The Cedi speaks:

“I don’t think there’s a problem with the offense right now,” Cedi Osman said following the 128-111 loss. “I think defensively we need to be better. I mean, it’s just not enough, especially against these types of teams. We have to play harder. You see the other teams, they’re not letting us score easy, but we gave up so many easy points tonight. Offensively, we will score because we have guys that can score the basketball, but defensively we just have to be better.”

Fedor:

But it became clear with another rout: The Cavs’ current issues run deeper than one enigmatic player. Deeper than a struggling starting group that had been responsible for lethargic starts. Deeper than a few injuries -- Kevin Love, Larry Nance Jr. and Matthew Dellavedova.

The Cavs have entered a dark place. They are weeks removed from trending in the right direction and unable to find the answers. They need to locate them quickly, before they start splintering.
