It took a perfect storm of Reddish and Hunter being out, Collins going down at halftime, and the best 3-point shooting of the year to eke out a 1-point win at home over a below average team, but I'll take anything at this point.
The Cavs ended up 15-for-28 on 3's; not bad for the worst 3-point shooting team in the league. Kudos to Windler going 5-for-5. Maybe this game gives him the confidence to keep shooting them going forward.
Allen missed two dunks which almost cost us the game but fortunately Young missed that one-footed runner from the foul line and the Hawks were so focused on Sexton that Stevens was able to get the inside position and the winning dunk. Nice job by Collin realizing he was being doubled and giving up the ball at the right time.
Garland almost threw it away with a careless behind the back dribble that Huerter cleanly stole, giving the Hawks the ball and the lead with 30 seconds left. He had a tough night, missing 12 shots and committing 5 turnovers. Can't complain too much about 17 points and 8 assists, though.
The Cavs shot 52.6% and had 28 assists on 41 field goals so the offense was better. They haven't scored 112 points in over two weeks.
Wade was a team worst -14 in 21 minutes. I'm not sold on him as a starter. Hope Prince gets back soon.
Stevens played some good defense in addition to his 8 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and a +12 in 16 minutes.
The Cavs had 10 blocked shots led by Allen with 4 and Okoro with 3. Yep, it's good to be playing the bottom half of the Eastern Conference again.
I missed the game but saw the last play on the ESPN page.......can somebody tell me why Tre even took that floater? Couldn’t he have dribbled the clock out?Favorite part of the night was Trae Young pointing to his brain like he's smart because Lloyd Pierce called a timeout that bailed him out, only for him to come right back and rush a floater giving us time to win the game
Well played Trae
I think Atlanta’s possession started with 29 seconds left. And we had a time-out that we decided not to use.I missed the game but saw the last play on the ESPN page.......can somebody tell me why Tre even took that floater? Couldn’t he have dribbled the clock out?
Thank you.....I was puzzled at his shot! Smart move by JBB not calling a timeout and not allowing the Hawks to set up on defense.I think Atlanta’s possession started with 29 seconds left. And we had a time-out that we decided not to use.
Trae screwed up the end of that game for ATL. Started by taking a series of terrible shots in the last minute, capped by a 15 ft floater with almost 10 left on the shot clock. He not only gave us too much time, he then played ‘ole defense on Stevens game winner. He’s an exciting player, but I doubt he will ever be a winner.Thank you.....I was puzzled at his shot! But looking at it again.....soft defense by the Hawks two Hawks defenders stood there and allowed Stevens to drive the middle, get airborne and dunk! No way he should have gotten to the rim for an uncontested dunk! TOO SOFT OF A LEAGUE! Somebody should have hit him! But I’m glad because it’s a Cavs win!
Yeah, it looked like Young was watching Sexton and was late reacting when Stevens made his move to the hoop. And I can't believe Gallinari stood there and let him throw it down. You gotta foul and hope he misses both pressure free throws or at least one.Thank you.....I was puzzled at his shot!
