Game Thread 2020-21 Season | Game #35 | Cavs @ Rockets | March 1, 2021

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Make it four in a row for the Wine and Gold.
I had to do a double take at the Sexton box score tonight. I saw he almost got 40, but how many assists?!
Not mad that they're bringing in Okoro off the bench. Not mad that he helped keep John Wall out of bringing the Rockets back within reach.
Not mad that Cedi is coming off the bench either.
Feels like it's a preview of what the future could be.

2nd quarter was brutal, but they righted the ship. So many turnovers, though. Garland and Sexton were going for the lob and it was read every time.

Four in a row is important because the players know that hard work gets rewarded. A feeling that you can't win is corrosive and destroys morale, effort, and team building.

Also, we obviously want Allen to stay in Cleveland, and constant losing wouldn't help that. Yes, he'd still be under our control next year as an RFA, but we obviously want to sign him to a long-term contract. Feeling like he is a part of something that is building in a positive direction can only help.

Wade is a pretty damn good defensive player on the switch.

I don't think I agree with Ben's assessment that he's just an energy big.
Wade has basketball smarts. His awareness of off the ball action
around the court is at an advanced point .

He is also showing a nose for getting good rebounding position.

And he keeps the ball moving.

The play at the 3:40 mark of the 4th quarter was a dirty cheap
push in the rear while in the air job doled out by Wall
on Allen. Just the kind of crap that ruins a career with
an awkward fall.

Also loved the in game tutoring from Nance to Wade just
under the 2 minute mark of the 4th when Wade was called
for a blocking foul on the driving Wall.

Injuries have made Olidipo a shadow of his former self.

Ugly wins don't look any different when added to
the left hand side of the team record.

I was at the game last night, the officiating was terrible... i mean terrible. I am going to watch the game again to see how bad it looked on TV, the rockets didn't play any replays on the big screen even on questionable fouls called on the Rockets.

Sexton looks so much faster in person versus on TV going to the rim, it was incredible. I really love watching McGee play on tv and even more in person.

PJ Tucker was straight up pushing guys around, literally just shoving them and shit never got called.

I saw in game when Allen got the Tech, from what I saw the dude tried to under cut him and no foul was called, i dont blame him for being hot. Again no fucking replay.

That is exactly what happened, and it pissed me off. When I saw it live, I was like "Oh, good, a foul." Then I saw the "T" signal and was like "BULLLLLLLLSHIT!!"
Fox Sports Ohio broadcast of course replayed it a couple times after it happened.

Seems like the Cavs always get the short end of the stick on those foul calls. It's maddening. You can see how new players that come here suddenly are at complete awe to the calls against that they suddenly get.

The guy totally extended his arms; it was an easy call. I saw it in real time even watching the ball. You could see Allen's body jackknife backward. Unbelievable. I don't blame him for being furious and Allen is not a player who is constantly begging for cheap calls.

How about the play where McGee didn't even touch the shooter and got called? McGee was so frustrated he slammed the ball on the floor.

Wall turned away from Allen after the shove, knowing eye contact
wouldn't be wise. The kind of play that is a pure cheap shot.

I'm curious to know was Delly coaching the young guys up during every timeout or was it in spots. I know I saw him talking to Garland in the second quarter.

I've been saying this shit since last season. For whatever reason, this team never get the call they should. The calls was so bad last night even the Rockets commentators said the Rockets got away with a few calls.

I think it was Tucker that elbowed Sexton in the face and he feel to the floor during the third quarter.

Teams still not getting the landing zone calls everytime Sexton shoots the three-point ball. The team been upset about that all season. The league can't say they want to protect the shooters when they land but won't tell the referees to call a landing zone foul when opponents are in Sexton landing area..

Four wins in a row and nobody is giving JBB any credit?

Happy with the wins for sure, but beating Houston twice, who are god awful at the moment (just got blown out by Memphis by 50!) Atalanta who just fired their coach. Philly was a great win, but an ugly one.

Team is noticeably playing better. Jarrett looks more integrated and guys are taking 3's while improving greatly on D. Signs of competency is an improvement

Who is the only player getting minutes that wasn’t during the 10 game losing streak? The only credit JB gets is not telling Altman to go to hell when Altman told him to play Wade. And that’s nothing but the facts.
