Ugly win but I'll take the W. Ugly as in 19 turnovers and 10-for-30 on 3's. But Sexton poured in 39 including a couple of big 3's as the Cavs separated in the 4th quarter.
Houston got 52 points from Oladipo and Wall and 38 from the rest of the team as the Cavs played pretty good defense in holding them to 90 points.
McGee had a nice game off the bench with 10 points, 5 boards, and 3 blocks in 17 minutes. He loved playing against that small lineup. Cedi had 11 points and 5 rebounds in 20 minutes.
The Cavs started out 4-for-18 on 3's but then made 6 of their last 12 to separate. They held the Rockets to only 40 points in the second half. It looked to me like Wall got tired after scoring 23 in the first half. He was held to 9 in the second. He played 40 minutes and was still gamely trying to bring the Rockets back in the 4th quarter, but had little support from his teammates.
The Cavs had some problems when they put Okoro, Stevens, and Wade on the floor with McGee because none of them can create their own shot. That's why Sexton is so valuable. He scored 39 plus dished out 8 assists. He breaks down the defense.
Okoro took eight shots and scored five points with one rebound in 33 minutes. Wall pretty much took him to the cleaners on defense as well.
Wade did a great job defending and rebounding and was second highest on the team at +14. He's one of those guys who quietly contributes without stuffing the stat sheet.
Windler has now missed six straight 3's after making nine in a row. He's either red hot or ice cold, but he once again displayed strong rebounding and he keeps the ball moving on offense. He was second on the team in rebounding despite playing only 19 minutes.
I disagree with whoever said the Rockets weren't playing defense. They had 13 steals and were very aggressive the entire game.
